Tackling across the board was bad.
He got out-schemed and out-coached.

Most of all - Why would you only send 3 guys to rush the QB on the Hail Mary???? Insane!!! When I saw that, I just couldn't believe it!!! The difference between having 7 guys back and 8 guys is minimal, as we saw with the near miracle catch, but having one more guy putting heat on the QB could've prevented all of this drama. I really hope he doesn't do that again.

Agree on all points. We were beaten to the edge on seemingly every play. VT got 4 yards per run every time.
It just felt all night like our defense was a step behind their offense. We never seemed to make anyTFL’s, or very few.

Dare I say we looked like a Manny Diaz defense.

Yes the TO’s were a major problem, but we stall gave up almost 400 years in offense, and it would have been more than 400 if the last play was not overturned.

Look like a 2 man rush and spy.. I could be wrong, I was too disgusted with the defenders around Horton WATCHING him fight for ball and W and they just standing there.. OJ a freshman but he didnt even TRY on that play, he was ncaa 25 glitched out
 
If you were to go back and watch the game, the plays were there to be made. A lot of 1 on 1 missed tackles with players in position.

I do believe they schemed us up, still blame needs to go on the players as well. We aren’t talented enough in the backend IMO.

This. Ask yourself how many guys missed their tackles, outran the play, or got out leveraged. It happened all the time. The 55 TD run, Powell had the RB 1v1 for maybe a 2 yard gain and he got trucked. You have to make your plays

If I'm an offense, I'm taking 1 on 1 every play. They out schemed us. We tried adjusting by running some zone, and **** it was embarrassing.

21 missed tackles. I didn't seen 4 or 5 miami guys gang tackling except for a few plays. They schemed in space

I disagree. We had 5 guys within a yard of the ball at the end of the hail mary. That one extra person in pass defense could've been the one who saved Miami the game.

They only gave up 189 passing I’ll take that any day of the week

Well the 1 on 1 will be there all year, it won’t change. Guidry IMO needs to take a look and adjust how he defends motion. We automatically lose all leverage on the boundary.

They passed it off nicely in the 4th qtr. I looked like Leonardo Dicaprio in wolf of Wallstreet pointing at the screen. Like where tf was that at. They tried passing off vs usf and didn't do a good job.

We aren't a zone team, they're going to have to figure out how to make man work in these situations. We can sprinke in some zone blitzes, but it cant be our base scheme. Golesch put it on tape. Every team will be imitating it going forward
