Eerily similar?

I hat the fact that we play the 'Ville in the bowl game and then open with them in the 'Ville on Labor Day.

The team we play this year will be very different than next year.

First, both teams will have new starting QBs and the backup to Bridgewater is not Bridgewater. Sure our D may make him look like a front runner for the Heisman but it will be a much different offense.

Second, our best offensive player is not playing this year (Duke Johnson). He will play next year, there best player will be gone.

I don't care who is playing for whom. I hate the fact we end one year with the same opponent we start the next year.

I actually think this is a principle difference (maybe THE principle difference) between the Golden teams and Shannon teams. Golden's teams do not generally give you that feeling of abject apathy that was so frustrating back then. Shannon's team by that point had more talent. This year's team tries harder more consistently. It would surprise me if they show up without effort like that team. I think they'll buy in and play hard. It would *not* surprise me if they become frustrated and demoralized should Louisville start to move the ball and score on them in bunches. Any team in their situation does that because they've never experienced defensive success and they don't believe in their defensive coaching IMO.

Louisville a boring opponent? Do people actually think before they post? And who the **** are we-some dominant team that gets to look down on others. The problem is some posters are still acting like this is 2001. It isnt -college football is very different .Speed is all over the place .Offenses have become more innovative and their athletes more athletic. We are an improving team that has been middle of the pack . A win over 11-1 Louisville would be great and a shot in the arm. With an incredible class coming in Momentum will be headed in the right direction.
This and other boards are replete with individuals who moan and whine that we arent dominant. Its like the golfer who shoots 2 over his handicap and feels the whole day was wasted instead of enjoying his friendships and the beautiful surroundings. Frankly you all should go kick your dogs instead of whining here.

Most posters on this site are 30 for 30 chugging youngsters who are living in their minds and not in reality. Rebuilding a program that has been devastated isn't **** or 'street'. **** just happens "cause we da U" or something.

we played a wisky program on the verge of a 3 year BCS run, dont think the Ville is as good

Wisconsin had a very good team in 2009. They lost 3 conference games, 1 to OSU who beat Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl and another to Iowa who beat Georgia Tech in the Orange Bowl.

Louisville has won some close games, especially the last 3.

Should be an entertaining game.

110% THIS.....YOU CAN'T PUT THIS SOUTH BEACH / CHOIR BOY FASHION SHOW ON THE FIELD WHERE PURE VIOLENCE RULES THE OUTCOME AND EXPECT TO BE LABELED AS DOMINANT..... "FRESH, TIGHT AND/OR COOL" HAS NO PLACE IN MIAMI HURRICANE FOOTBALL.....

Louisville is beneath us. It just is what it is. We shouldn't be playing them ever.

You realize they're joining our conference right? We're going to be playing them a lot in the future. Is that ok with you?

They're joining the conference but they are joining the Atlantic rather than the Coastal. Obviously we are in the Coastal so despite them joining the ACC we're really only going to be playing them once every three years (if not more years). Think about it... we don't really play Clemson THAT often just like we won't be playing Louisville THAT often since they're in the other division of the ACC. Unless we meet in the championship but doubt that happens any time soon because they won't beat FSU or Clemson for the Atlantic any time soon IMO

I know that. He said we shouldn't be playing them ever. I responded that they were joining our conference, so we would be playing them, if only every couple of years. Also, by joining the conference, that sort of legitimizes them in a way too. Makes it "ok" to play them. That was my point. He was coming across like they're Temple.

We play temple next year?

9-3 record in Year 3, disappointing finish to the season, Orlando Bowl game against a boring opponent that we should beat.

Randy lost the game, and then had his recruiting class severely disappoint as he wasn't able to close on major targets. That Wisky bowl game and subsequent signing day were the signals to me that Randy needed to be removed.

Golden is in an eerily similar situation. Its a huge turning point opportunity. Win the game, close with a top 5 class, and we are on our way? Pull a Randy, and I'm afraid we are still very much lost.
TOTALLY AGREE. I've felt the same way since the bowl was announced. Will I freeze my *** off, watching yet another massive let down, or does Golden turn the proverbial corner and beat a "good" U of L team that, in all honesty, we should beat at "home". Get it done, Al.

all of this.

winning the game or losing the game means nothing compared to the desperate need to clean house on the defensive side of the ball. we will never be good with this Efense
