9-3 record in Year 3, disappointing finish to the season, Orlando Bowl game against a boring opponent that we should beat.

Randy lost the game, and then had his recruiting class severely disappoint as he wasn't able to close on major targets. That Wisky bowl game and subsequent signing day were the signals to me that Randy needed to be removed.

Golden is in an eerily similar situation. Its a huge turning point opportunity. Win the game, close with a top 5 class, and we are on our way? Pull a Randy, and I'm afraid we are still very much lost.

Louisville will probably be favored in this game by at least a FG.

Lets see 1st round pick qb who can also run a little bit in a spread offense against our defense?

What could go wrong when Duke and UVA and Wake all go for 500 yards.

Let's be honest.....we don't just need to WIN the game for the jackals.

I'll gladly take a one point win. Let's face it, without Devin Hester, Louisville basically pushes our **** in every time we meet them. We need to set the tone with ole Charlie over there, make him go job hunting.

Louisville a boring opponent? Do people actually think before they post? And who the **** are we-some dominant team that gets to look down on others. The problem is some posters are still acting like this is 2001. It isnt -college football is very different .Speed is all over the place .Offenses have become more innovative and their athletes more athletic. We are an improving team that has been middle of the pack . A win over 11-1 Louisville would be great and a shot in the arm. With an incredible class coming in Momentum will be headed in the right direction.
This and other boards are replete with individuals who moan and whine that we arent dominant. Its like the golfer who shoots 2 over his handicap and feels the whole day was wasted instead of enjoying his friendships and the beautiful surroundings. Frankly you all should go kick your dogs instead of whining here.

Two big differences are that Coach Golden will pull in a good class because the kids like him and want to play for him and that he will not be "removed" regardless. If you're not sure about these, just wait. Verification will come soon.

I think OP is saying boring as in Who gives a **** about louisville. It eould have been more high profile playing TAMU or LSU.

I was actually very excited for the 99 (2000) Gator Bowl, I was in Jax and on active duty, I think I got in for free and GT was coached by O'Liar and they had a good squad, only team in the ACC that gave that terror of an FSU team a scare of any kind IIRC. Kelly started the game, Dorsey finished, that Moss/Wayne High Five was right in front of me and we really crushed GT, showed me we had a good squad coming back for 00.

Bowl games are crucially important for young teams, young players get a lot more run than you think, these last two years have killed our development. We should be excited to be in a bowl game, period, given the last two years.

Yes we should beat an 11-1 Louisville bc they are a lower division team that in any BCS conference would have multiple losses.

Yes it's boring bc it's ****ng Louisville. They aren't a rival, aren't traditional, don't represent an elite conference. Beating them only benefits the W-L record. It's not a statement to next season, or something that will make recruits pay attention. It's a **** bowl game against a team no one takes seriously.

I hat the fact that we play the 'Ville in the bowl game and then open with them in the 'Ville on Labor Day.

these guys haven't been to a bowl game in 3 years, they should have no problem getting up for the game.

Simple. Beating them -- good. Losing to them -- bad. We all expect them to hand a huge number of yrads and points on us--who hasn't. Wait, the gator didn't! Just wanted to enjoy that one more time. Would have been better to play A&M because the TV exposure would have been great and it was SEC and if in Atlanta, it could have helped our GA recruiting efforts.

This game does nothing for me. Louisville has gotten zero respect this year from the media. Beating them and it's "They are an AAC team" and losing to them will kill any respect and momentum going into next year. I wanted the SEC. It's the only way to get respect in the rigged league.
