If Carpenter leaves tonight without an offer then possibly Edwards was a silent today. I heard he wants to announce on NSD. Edwards despite his ups-and-downs with the U he is a more versatile player and had played a lot tougher competition.

And no I'm not expecting him to commit today

But if needed he has more versatility that Carpenter. Who knows he may remain a CB his career here if he chooses to come. Look at Sean Smith (Miami, Chiefs and Raiders_) 6-3 and 217 or so. People talk about Carpenters Nike 40"+ vertical but Edwards made the state finals in the high jump so must have good vertical ability.
