Edouard Reacts to Cristobal Leaving

I'll say it again, every junior commit might as well be counted as a decommit.

Why should he care about a coach that wont be teaching him in college? Coley is the one who will be working w him. Cant blame the coaching staff for Mario being a complete lying a-hole.

i could have sworn that edouard was being recruited by coley, i remember him saying all this stuff about coley making him feel like home and ****

I would be shocked if this kid keeps his commitment a full year.

Wouldn't lose sleep over it tho.

Cristobal will be such a recruiting asset for Bama..

Saban have to admire the money and motives of this cat. My goodness on top of college football and not looking back. Wonder if we will be able to get back to the mountain top.

The thing that I don't like isn't the comment on Mario but rather the 'at least we got Coley.'

This kid should be saying 'Al Golden's still here, so I'm not worried.'

If Mario's leaving turns Coley into our savior, then we're setting ourselves up for a mess next winter.

Prior to receiving the UM offer, young Allen sounded like yours truly used to sound talking to a chick BEFORE I ficked her. After receiving the offer, he's done nothing but sound like me AFTER I conquered the hoe. This dude has gone from Duke II to ***** Jr almost overnight.

IMO notwithstanding some recruiting bumps this year, Al and co. were making good progress on the rebuilding project. I am concerned, however, that with Fisch, McDonald and Richardson gone, he's gone away from his comfort zone in terms of who he's brought in. The 'shore up so fla recruiting' gambit almost looks panicky to me. Mario leaving is pathetic, but no one would be surprised if Coley bolted before NSD next year. And Hurley Brown was already 'on board' before getting the promotion, so don't see him adding anything there. Curious turn of events on this staff.

Not sure how Fisch (who Al never even met in person prior to hiring), McDonald and Richardson were in Al's "comfort zone" as he never worked with them prior to hiring them two years ago.

Where is this panic you speak of? I don't see it that way at all.

perfect lol

I'm gonna say this all year, just win. A lot of the wishy washy bull**** Golden has to put up with would dissipate with a ten win season.

I'm not using comfort zone to imply personal familiarity -- more that they fit what he was doing.

Mario, Coley and Hurley seem selected more heavily for local recruiting ties than anything else. That's an apparent change in strategy/priorities.

Coming on the heel of the finger pointing locally around recruiting, and some high profile misses, it's not hard to infer that Al's shoring up local recruiting ties at the expense of other qualities he might look for in staff members. In fairness, I said that the gambit 'almost looks panicky.' Not trying to over-read it, but the emphasis on local recruiting ties together with Mario's back-stabbing makes the whole thing seem someone forced and less than well planned by Al. Hopefully he gets someone who can actually corch 'em up to replace Mario, and we move on.

I'm also still concerned that we'll lose Coley a few weeks before NSD next year.
