Eddie Johnson

Yep. He was going after the ball in a lot of tackles. Glad he finally got one. The LBs were the best part of the defense by far

He earned more PT, I think. He and Malcolm Lewis.

Did not see much from Thurston... few times I saw him he was chasing someone. I'm hopeful Johnson can win this role.... he's physical, plays with attitude, and made a good football play there in a big situation.

I think Cornelius played more than Thurston

Just can't believe how many freshmen made big plays today against an actual DI opponent, rather than a Bethune/College of Charleston type warm up.

Old canes can tell you this is usually a tough road game and the young cats responded with ferocity.

I saw some flashes from kids like Johnson. Just need to be more consistent. I feel pretty good about this staff developing kids like this.

Yeah don't get me wrong, there was A LOT of mistakes. But there was a lot of heads up plays by these guys and that's important going forward.

after Thompkins dropped the first down on the first drive I was calling for Lewis. dont think we'll see much more of Thompkins

I think a group of linebacker of Perryman, Buchanan, and Eddie Johnson needs to play more often.

Armbrister just didn't appear anywhere. Cornelius was lost. Gaines makes one good play, then appears on the side of a milk carton. Paul is hurt. Kirby is hurt.

I like Terry as the pass rush reserve. He was playing up and down and he hits with violence at the point of contract.

I was impressed with terry getting run today. Will be watching him.

Sucks that paul and kirby are hurt.

i like EJ a lot. dude has good instincts and plays mean. he stood some WR up with one arm and was tossing him around like a ragdoll stripping the ball. he also made a key TFL early in the game when we desperately needed to get off the field on D

I been on his bandwagon for a minute, dude looks the part, and he seems to play the part. Hopefully he gets more consistent in his play. Would love to see him take the next step in pass coverage.

Johnson and Perryman run and hit like vintage 'Cane backers. He was very active today, and I hope he continues to get after it.

Somebody please hide Cornelius's helmet from now on. He was abysmal out there.

EJ and Cornelius have a nack for knocking the ball loose. Both guys forced fumbles today and I saw both multiple times swiping at the ball trying to punch it out. Thats what I like to see
