Eddie Johnson will be an All American

Nice to see one of these late desperation signees become an impact player.

What stands out most to me is his physicality. He is easily our most physical LB at the point of attack.

I disagree with that. He stepped in and played a nice game for us today. Did he make every play, no, but DP doesn't either.
 
EJ is a beast...yes he made mistakes today but who din't...really like the way he plays. very very aggressive LB...even when he has messed up he is scratching and clawing...like it a lot

and re: the LB predictions for the future. I propose the following since we seem to be moving to a hybrid 3-4/4-3 scheme

OLB Thomas
MLB Perryman
MLB kirby
OLB- EJ

with heavy rotation of fresh players like Gpaul

I we grab Thomas next year will be scary good with LBs. If we can get some good D-line play With the secondary we have this defense will be scary. If these kids keep playing like this we will have a championship caliber team next year with most of our players returning. I am sold on Golden and Fisch. Coach D I am not 100% sold but I am not giving up on him. Once he gets the players to fit his scheme I think he will be good to go.

EJ has the type of mean streak this school has been desperate for. Dude is old school nasty out there. Finishing plays and making sure the guy on the ground that just got knocked out remembers what he looks like after the play.

Our fans just look for highlights as most fans do. Gaines should receive a game ball for his effort against G Tech. What an outstanding game. Do you know why EJ was making all those Plays? It was because Gaines kept moving Ej into the correct alignment.

Gaines was filling that whole like a monster allowing EJ and others to make the play. Man was he bringing it! He may not be a highlight reel, but to say that kid is bad is just disrespectful to him. He played his *** off and ran the defense like a vet.

He has surprised the **** out of me. Very impressed.

#31, however, is all-time bad. At my count, he had about 5-6 huge plays allowed that were directly his fault. He was lost out there.

I must've watched a different game because I swear this kid was taking bad angles and totally out of position almost every time GT had a big gain.

I meant that Cornelius actually made plays which is more than I've ever seen him do.

If you wanted to be polite all you had to do was say "City I disagree". I am not here for the childish banter or the bickering and fighting. For some reason I get called names and entire threads created about me. This happens everyday I log on. You never see me disrespect anyone or call them names. I never take those things personal or follow them in each thread to bicker. So I am not going to follow you just to bicker. As far as I am concerned this never happened.

But back to the topic.

Gaines is a good LB. He is not flashy or jumps off the film such as EJ or Perryman. To say he is bad is not giving him the credit that he deserves. On every good team there are players that will never receive the accolades, mentioned in new papers, make sports center or noticed by fans but they are so important to the team. The highlights will never show Gaines getting EJ and others in the correct alignment. They will never show Gaines making the correct checks on defense or him crashing. Crashing is an important but thankless job.

Gaines crashed and took on players in order to allow EJ and others to clean up the play. Without Gaines giving up his body, those plays would not be possible. These players are the unsung heroes of the team. As fans we see the big hits or the big runs but we rarely see the one or two guys that did the dirty work to allow those plays to happen. People wonder why I have always gave Kendall props. Kendall may not catch a lot of passes but on ever big kick return by Duke, like clock work Kendall has the key block who helps spring him.

The game of football is more than just highlights.

EJ has been high on my list since the BC game when he missed the coverage on the RB coming out of the backfield, chased him down after he caught the ball, and stripped the ball away from him. Kid has heart, doesn't give up...he wasn't letting that guy go to the ground with the ball, he wanted it. I love that.
