Ed Reed

I think because fans have so much respect for Reed that they were expecting a more impactful role for him at the U. The fans being disappointed to see the program deteriorating while he was on the sidelines is -at least for me- understandable. Winning is what the fans care about. If JJ was the HC here the last 3 years with the same results (hypothetical) fans will forget about his 52-9 record and NC's he brought to Miami and will fly banners for him to be fired.

Again, recognizing what Ed Reed did here and the NFL, respecting him and loving him has nothing to do with questioning his role when was hired by Miami and Manny Diaz.

I tried to tell ya'll that a bunch of these cats were talking ish about ER20 on here. Some of ya'll acting like I was making that ****t up.

Just saw a new Ed Reed thread on here with dudes talking all kind of garbage about the GOAT.
Like I said.
No self respecting Canes fan should be talking ish about the man. Ever!!!

Who is talking sh** about Ed Reed?
Nobody.

It's funny to me as I see these types of straw man posts often.

Category wise it seems that some posters either argue about something that nobody disagrees with, dispel a preconceived notion that doesn't exist, or contradict an illusory opposing argument that's never been made.

i guess, like certain profession(s), that some posters enjoy hearing themselves talk, or in this case reading their own posts.

I guess you didn't read the other Ed Reed thread.

Manny hired him in a mascot-like role. That ain't "hating" on him—it's knocking the fluff job he was brought on to do, with both hands tied behind his back.

Dude is the greatest safety in the history of Miami football—which has nothing to do with the PR role he was hired in, as mentioned above—a smoke-screen from Manure for squashing the Alonzo hire.

You can call Reed a mascot for standing on the sideline during 2020-2021 games, while still acknowledging he's one of the best-ever to put on the uniform. One has nothing to do with the other—and no one needs a video for "evidence"; we all saw it live from 1999-2001 when he dominated the sport.

Diaz and UM used #20 in damage-control fashion. He're' hoping he stays on in a real role under Mario.
NAH ED REED WASN'T "USED" BY ANYBODY!

Don't recall if I did and don't otherwise recall reading anything critical of him. But lets say there is a post in another thread that is crlitical of Ed Reed.

Just a friendly suggestion (not telling you what to do or what you should do) to consider putting your comments as a direct reply to that actual post - as opposed to a stand alone statement in the start of a separate thread. It might make it easier for others and someone like me 😉 to put it into context and follow along.

Otherwise .... Go Canes !!
