This kid will end up being a high 3 star/low 4 star type by the end of the cycle once he’s properly evaluated. Good offer list as well and I’m sure more will continue rolling in.

Im good trusting Guidry here, especially with his ties to La.

Careful I said this about Anderson who’s already a 3 star recruit and got destroyed. 😂😉

Agree. Has a P5 offer from each of the five conferences. Type LSU offers by fall.

You’d think we would take three corners this cycle….I’d be happy if he’s our first in the boat.

We have to accept we likely won't land top 100 recruits at corner until we show NFL proof of concept. If we can develop guys like Graves, Harris, Damari, Stafford, etc into top 4 round picks then we'll start plucking who we want. Until then we need to grab the solid 2nd tier types. This kid, Philostin/Knight from WPB, Jamari Howard, and that athlete from Rhode Island is where we need to focus our efforts.

We did have the #1 CB committed last year

Right and once he gets the LSU offer he won’t end up at Miami and folks here will be up in arms about it

If they don't sign that LOI then the answer is really no we didn't
I agree with the principle. You’re not saying not to take shots at some of the top plan A types but more so, lock up the plan B/B+ types. It’s the same thing I said about recruiting WRs. It’ll take time to get the top guys at those positions IMO.

Absolutely. Although for WR specifically I'd be happy with Chance & Trader as my top two.

Who could be next?

Miami is picking up 247Sports Crystal Ball action for several defensive backs they covet.

Baton Rouge (La.) Southern Lab defensive back Dylan Day is a player new defensive coordinator Lance Guidry is high on and the Hurricanes had on campus two weeks ago. The 6-foot, 170-pound is a fluid, rangy, versatile, playmaking defensive back that has seen his recruitment pick up this calendar year. Cristobal and Guidry have been pushing since February.

It’s like when we put all that effort into guys like Surtain and Campbell and slower play/don’t press the guys behind them. We’re left scrambling for Plan C’s and D’s

That was the year we ignored Asante Samuel and he really wanted to be here
That’s exactly who came to mind. That should never happen. Those guys should be treated as de facto plan A’s and the Surtains as gravy. Same with Jeremiah Smith.

Never said he signed. Obviously some weird stuff happened at the end otherwise he probably does. It’s not like he went somewhere known for putting CB in the league or a coach who has ever done so, no matter his success as a player.
