The rules are different in regards to if the school can place restrictions, but they are not different (currently) in regards to ICs. A school can take a combined 25 recruits/transfers per season. There are work arounds that can be done with counting them towards future/past classes, but they are the same for both.

I can't recall a similar situation ever.

I'm just saying, without TN agreeing, it would be unilateral ... and they don't have to agree ... so that's the deal here. It seems weird primarily because the NCAA got rid of the one year sit-out rule for now anyhow for transfers. But don't see how they can help this situation without undermining the LOI significance entirely. Closest I can recall is Walker last year transferred ... but he was an early enrollee and so he transferred to Miami even before his HS class graduated lol.

Yes, but he was class of 2019. We're still throttled by the 2021 class cap., not the overall team cap.

No. First time we give them financial aid, they are an IC to us, regardless of whether they come from HS or the Portal.
