Duke's Speed....

yes, b/c i'm sure when they do gassers and 110's, he's probably not one of the 1st ones done.

Duke is plenty fast and very quick! He's not a 100 guy... he's a quick out the gate guy and reaches full speed quickly. So in a 40 he'll post very good times... in the 100 his time will suffer.

Duke's cardiovascular endurance is very poor. It actually looks like he gets winded after about 70 yards and starts to gas out. I'm just happy for the 70 yards he gets us before he gasses out.

This is the TRUTH right here. After 2 carries, Duke is looking to the sideline to tap out. That dude Crawford carried the load and asked out maybe once! Seemed to get a stronger with every carry...

I hand timed him twice at 4.4 and 4.42 at a Scout.com camp his junior year. I'd say he runs electronic mid 4.4s at the NFL combine whenever he chooses to leave.

There were other guys timing and all had him in that same range.

Probably because Crawford was running for 8, 1, 2, -1 yards a pop. Duke wants out after a 24, 54 sequence. So don't play him weak like that smh.

the real problem is our continued inability to punch the ball in from inside the 5 yard line, a far bigger concern than whether Duke can outrun DBs for 60+ yards.

Do you guys watch other running backs at all? They ALL get hawked down at times. But guess what? Duke breaks MORE long runs than most RBs do.

This is the dumbest topic Canes fans bring up. How bout worrying about how our defense can slow down Tanner Price? How bout a wondering if our SR QB actually starts playing like a SR QB?

I saw Price play at Ely and he was a baller. Kid made all Broward so he's legit.

Duke was hawked down by a fellow Floridian (Price). No shame in that.

People also seem to always forget that running with the ball slows you down. A player without the ball who doesn't have to adjust for balance and can use both their arms for momentum will always run faster than if he had the ball.

Can't believe this thread. Duke is plenty fast enough. I'm not too worried that he gets caught 70 yards from where he started.

it looked like that to me on that play too. he exploded past everyone then slowed down a half a step after 40-50 yards
