Those pads are heavy mane, specially when your pants aren't pulled up high enough.
 
I think he runs a good 40. His acceleration is top notch. It's after 40 yards where he tops out and gets caught up to.

When was the last time a running back other than Duke busted a big one out in the open so his speed could truly be judged?

Crazy how often Duke breaks out.

I'm not an apologist even though I am about to sound like one, but he was running on a wet field. As was the guy that walked him down, but who's to say that he wasn't getting too good of a traction because he wasn't wearing short cleats and was wearing long ones for cutting not helpful for straight ahead speed and/or he's lost some speed because of injuries.

Duke is not a 4.5 guy when everything is right. 4.4 sounds about right.
