Duke says. . .

I want to see what kind of season he has...I am really excited for him to have a break out year.

The concern I would have is yes your gonna get drafted but where and what round. Last year
the top RB was not taken until the 2nd round i believe...
If he stays healthy, he will have a monster year because that's who he is. Guaranteed monster year if he can stay healthy.

The fat man would be well served to get as much as possible out of Duke this year because he'll never have the chance to benefit from his skills again after this season. I'd have him returning kicks in every game against a decent opponent because the yards or scores he could give us in that facet could be the difference between winning and losing. Go all in and don't worry about saving him. Let him make a Heisman run.

I want Duke to go. Every good running back should only do 3 years in college if they arent redshirted.

Gone. If healthy this season, it doesn't really make sense for him to add more miles. We thank him for his time here and appreciate anything he provided.

Yep, besides, I don't think he can improve his draft status too much if he has a good JR season. 5-9, 205 pound RBs typically aren't going to go super high in the draft.

im predicting 4th Round with a really good season. 2nd-3rd with awesome Season.

degrees are all cool but if he is a top 4 round pick he needs to go get that money!

the only reason he should stay if it will help him get drafted higher.

not worth the injury risk

Through 8 games he had 145 Carries for 920 Yards and 6 TDs

If healthy, over 13 games, he was on pace for 236 Carries for 1495 and 10 TDs

In the UNC game he played the 1st Quarter Only and was 8 for 83 (on pace for 300 Rushing Yards).

If he stays healthy, expect a big season.

he gone, no worries we got yearby and plenty more talent coming in the next two classes at that position

good luck to duke in the league

He's a running back they have an even shorter life span in the NFL. I want him to leave so he can get paid and I can have another player to cheer for on Sundays.

You know you're a fan favorite when the fans want you to leave for the NFL and get paid. 99% of the time we're selfish and want the top players to stick around for their senior year (see: Perryman, Denzel). Duke is the best player the Canes have had in a very long time and most of us want him to go get that check. Kid is all heart.

With that said, I wouldn't be surprised if he stays. He loves the U. If he thinks we could make a run in 2015 he might want to lead the way.

Sounds about right, although depends on what "awesome" is. If it's awesome, he MAY sneak into the first as a utility guy for an already good team. But yeah, your prediction sounds good.,

We all know about injury risk and time spans of nfl running backs. But with Duke being smaller than your prototypical running back paired with running backs getting drafted so low these days... You think he'd leave if he was a projected 5th round pick say?

You're crazy if you think Duke falls past the 3rd round! Once he dominates at the combine (Which he will DOMINATE) he will be a lock to be a top 60 pick. With an awesome season top 45 pick. Cant teach speed and vision, its something a RB either has or he doesn't, and DUKE has the stuff

And Duke won't leave if he's not projected to be a top 3 round pick. Bank

Top 3? Fine, but he is not a round 1 type of kid, imo. It will take an exceptional season to do that and I don't see him doing it. Look at how many 5-9, 205 RBs who are 4.4/4.5 guys get drafted in the first - there aren't very many at all.

We're lucky that this class of RBs is the best we've seen in a long time. If a bunch if these guys also bolt Duke may see the value in staying an extra year.

That being said RBs should go as soon as they can and limit college carries to last longer when getting paid.

He could be a 1st rounder if he does it all like C.J. Spiller did at Clemson. This means Duke needs more touches in the special teams game and he needs to start catching more balls out the backfield. If he does those type of things more often, he may have a chance.

If healthy, I think he's a 2nd round back and could climb a little if there's a perfect team fit. There's an overreaction going on right now to devalue RBs, but Bishop Sankey was still drafted 54th overall. He's of similar size to Duke, more or less, had great times, but not the actual player - explosively or otherwise - that Duke can be.

You know who could make Duke a lot of money?

The 2014 NFL version of Gio Bernard. He was the 5th pick in the 2nd round at 5' 8" 202 without having freakish hands and a 4.53 40. He had solid quickness times at the Combine, but so should Duke. If Gio goes off this year, you'll see teams try to duplicate that success. Duke just needs to stay relatively healthy.

You know what momma likes better than a degree? A brand new house and a pimpin *** ride. You can always come back and finish the classes in the off season, but a RB has the shortest shelf life of any FB player in the NFL. For them, they have to start at the year 30 and work back. If you get out of school when you 21, you have 9 years effective as a RB in the NFL. With the new CBA the NFL just put in, you got to get that rookie contract out of the way as quick as possible, so that puts you at 25. Add another year for the senior year, that is one less year getting paid, especially if you good between age 26 to 30.

On top of all the BS Golden messed with him about last year. I would love to see he play at the U, but to be honest, that man needs to get paid.
