Duke is ready

I expect the FSU defense to play like the gaytors did with the late hits/cheap shots and the after whistle stuff given it is a rivalry game. Hope Duke can avoid some of it.

This whole game's on Duke's back. He will absolutely need to be superhuman for us to win. He's our best player, and he's the one guy that can be an equalizer for us. He'll need to sack up and avoid tapping his helmet and pulling himself out for little nicks and dings. He's going to need to be an absolute hoss. If he goes for 150+ and houses a kick we'll have a chance. The team that wins the rushing battle usually wins this game.

In other words, our OL will have to show up like it never has before. This is why I put such importance on the underdog "us against the world" mentality and the hope that fsu comes in thinking they're unbeatable. This sht will come down to mindset in the trenches. Will our guys be mean enough and mad enough and tough enough to push those guys around? If they do, then we can do this.

One of my favorite ALL TIME duke highlight is when he took on 3 FSU defenders last year on a 3rd and short and made the first down while taking a licking. He got up before all three FSU defenders and ran back to the huddle!

I think FSU will stack the line and have Morris beat them so if Duke gets 100 it will be a monster game from him.

Love to see screens to Duke and have him line up in the slot as well as we need him everywhere on Saturday.

Duke is capable of this!

I just hope fsu is drinking the 22 point favorite Kool aid and our coaches are letting thee players know just how much they are getting disrespected.

Coley will have to hold nothing back with Morris. Morris having a great game is the only way we can win this game because fsu will put 9 in the box before they let Duke beat then by himself. Games like this is the reason players come to Miami, Morris will have the game of his life o Saturday. F*ck espn and all of their so called experts.

That was against BC. It was my favorite too. It showed me right away that this kid was not a *****. Not some overhyped soft ***** like most of the 08 kids were.

As said it's really all on Morris. If we get end of last year USF and even GT Morris we win. If we get UNC, Wake Morris we get pounded.

Gonna need Duke to play the game of his life, and hopefully the blocking is there for him.

Kinda agree, I think the game is on our OL. They gotta step it up and play as well as we think they can. We need them to play their best, because we are gonna need more than Duke, we are gonna need a good game from Crawford as well.

Attitude starts from the respective lines, not the so-called skill positions. If our O-line, especially, is mean, aggressive, and assignment sound, we can definitely win this game.

Thanks for correction- my bad. However we both agree it is a an all time duke highlight. He brings it every game, stiff arms his opponents into the basement, and then talks **** to them after he runs straight into them. Duke for all the hype he gets my be underhyped unlike famous ****.

We faced a better Dline when we BEAT UF. I believe we can do it again to FSU. Y'all worried about stopping FSU? They have to be worried about stopping Miami. In specific, Duke!

WE have Duke and they have nothing close to him.

one thing you can see this year is duke being more vocal on the sidelines. it would have been impossible for other guys to not respect him before just based on his talent and performance. this year he's taken on more of a leadership role and to me that has been almost (ALMOST) as impressive as his exploits on the field...it still continues to make me so happy that this core group of guys have 2 more years of eligible ball left after this year, and they already 'get it' and have really bought in to what's being built in coral gables.

These boys are gonna be ready, i always say 'vegas knows' but there absolutely no way we dont keep this close until the very end. This group never quits, never rolls over for anyone. Are we underdogs? sure we are...are we catching wreck from all the idiot pundits? fo'sho...bt isnt this how we like it? we want to be doubted, we want to be hated...and when they tellus we cant do something we come out and punch you in the mouth.

bring it 'noles...our boyz gon be ready fo ya

All of this. Two of the more impressive, yet understated games for RBs in our history are the 2003 FSU game for Payton and the 2000 FSU game for James Jackson. They were brutal games without flashy plays, but both RBs were able to grind. Excited to see Duke up for that challenge.

I was thinking of James Jackson when wrote that post. He was a warrior in that game and didn't take negative plays. He didn't bust anything big, but he kept chewing up yards and putting the offense in good position. I forgot about Payton's game, but that's another one that fits the bill. Like you, I can't wait to see how Duke responds to this enormous challenge.

I just hope we don't abandon the run quickly if we're not racking up big yards right away. We've been pretty quick to do that over the last several years, but I'd like to see us stick with it even if we're not necessarily gashing them.
