I feel reasonably comfortable saying UM has the best freshman RB and the best freshman OL in the country. I also think Howard, Bush, Kirby, Lewis are amongst the best at their positions. And plenty of the other guys will be very good also.

The future looks bright, whatever we suffer through this year.

Amen brother.

I wore out my keyboard talking about how Flowers was better than any other offensive linemen coming in this year. The fact that he came in early just solidified his early contributions.

The young guys have a bright future. But they're going to take their bumps and bruises. But I agree flowers surprised me duke is duke enough said, bush I thought played well as did malcolm lewis, howard needs more reps.

I was drunk as **** by 3rd qtr don't remember much of second half so I could be wrong hahaha

I couldn't agree more, really bummed Kirby got hurt, feel like we could have really used him yesterday.

I know intuitively that youth = bumps and bruises. But Duke and Flowers are legit players in CFB, IMO. Not legit frosh. Those guys have long pro careers ahead of them.

I think these are two of the freshmen who may be somewhat immune from the freshmen wall. The game is just too easy for them.

The other guys will likely hit it, which is why I'm hoping some older guys step up, particularly at WR.

I think when all is said and done, we are looking at the best RB and best OT ever to come through UM.

I was as proud of our freshmen as I could be. All of them.

Some were hesitant at times, a bit lost at times, but they played their asses off - something we've been wanting to see for almost a decade.

Beyond the obvious in Duke and Flowers....I was really impressed by Malcolm Lewis.

He's a bigger version of Theron Collier (who I was a HUGE fan of). Kid knows how to sit down on a route in an open spot in a zone.....he's also got that jitterbug aspect to his game, more quick than fast, when operating the middle of the field. Really like what I've seen so far from the kid.

I know it is a lot to say. And I'm not saying it off one game. Anyone who's been in on our recruiting discussions knows I've been effectively saying this about duke for a year now. And I've had flowers as my clear no. 2 in the class.

I trust my eyes. Duke to me is in a class with faulk, and lt, and better than bush. I'm not calling him Barry sanders, but I've watched CFB since 1980 and there aren't many guys I've seen who has what duke has. He is special. It's that simple.

With flowers, it's different. There are other OT with size, strength and the like. Henderson is one on our own team. And don't sell bunch short on size/strength. But with flowers, it's his attitude and focus, combined with size and feet, that wow me. I thought on film he's as good an OL prospect as I've seen. But watching him focus on his role, i'm much higher on him than just on film. He's a unique kid, IMO.

Ultimately, you have to trust your eyes. We have two very special kids in this class. Canton special.

If you're going to **** up at least do it 100 MPH. They can coach technique, effort and heart, not so much.

After 1 game u think that? (rhetorical)

I do. Not just after a game. I've thought these guys are special for a long time now. I'm not predicting the future. Just commenting on ability, and what my eyes see, and my instincts say.

Whether they are better than other freshman or not, we will never know. Why? Because appropriately coached and run programs DON'T HAVE TO PLAY THEIR FRESHMAN! (Thanks Shantard). Bama and LSU and USC aren't playing 64 freshman and sophomores because they have upperclassmen on the field.

It's a great opportunity now for young guys to play here and these guys are gonna have a forum to showcase their talents. I'm impressed after one game. That's as far as I'll go.
