"This summer, Thomas was the fastest player timed in the 40-yard dash at The Opening Nike camp in Beaverton, Ore., clocking a time of 4.32 seconds, Sunkett said."

East St. Louis coach: WR Jeff Thomas 'leaning' toward Mizzou | Eye on the Tigers | stltoday.com

Why in the **** were we not on this kid earlier/ Heck all coaches have access to the Combine results and if you have that you can take a glance at his film to see if he plays up to his combine results and go from there. Kid also plays a heck of a corner.

Could this be the problem?"

Dugans Adjusting to Recruiting at Miami
- Aug 12, 2016 5:01 PM

I like the bigger guys," Dugans said when asked what he's looking for in a wide receiver. "

"But they also don’t have to be the bigger guys ... 6-2, 6-1 guys that can run and are physical can work. If they are under 6-0, they have to be able to fly. They got to be an explosive kid that can make plays, catch the ball and get up field. Is he a tough kid? Does he love football? Does he play special teams? That’s some of the different things I look for in the skill set. I just don’t go off, ‘Hey he’s got everybody in the country after him.’ I want to know if he's a good football player."

Seems like during recruiting this year he forgot the part of his statement on if they are under 6 feet then need to fly.

I thought Dugans philosophy was driving around in his Donk and getting rejected by wr's

Not enough room in the Donk for Holloman's brother, Hartley's dad and sister and Jeudy's bags. Dudes not driving a station wagon.

It's pretty obvious why Dougans and every other major school around him haven't made him a priority till the last hour...academics. Don't try and turn this into some staff problem with your bull**** trolling. They're are plenty of other examples where they failed at WR. Jeff Thomas isn't one of them.

I did not see it as a staff issue. I saw it as a philosophy of styles. Maybe the bigger WR was in vogue where he came from and what he is use to coaching and working with. The U has always had tremendous smaller receivers with great speed that succeeded at the collegiate level and at the professional level. Besides the OP just quoted what Dugans had said himself. He is not trolling just stating what a guy stated. Besides if you can calm down a little emotionally you will see the OP has been strongly supportive of the staffs corner by all his previous posts.

This would have been a better post than the one you made about trolling. Be kool and think first before reacting. Go back and read the over all posts of people and see where they are coming from.

Richt likes WRs who can block.

Sad that we aren't looking at speed today and height second. Shannon made that mistake at CB and missed out on NFL guys from so fla

wow, yet another midget WR to come save our class? Jeez, you all really need to give it up. At least wait till NSD before you start wailing. And besides, McFarland is a strong lean that will play WR.

Should have kept Dingle then who was a very good blocker. How much of a blocker is Jeudy? Or Harley?
It is a different coaching philosophy now but how many of these guys were great blockers but blazingly fast-- Santana, Dorsett, Roscoe Parrish, Travis Benjamin, Hester, Sinorice Moss, Perriman, Daryl Jones, Kevin Williams,---all these players were drafted into the NFL and many in the top couple of rounds.

You don't recruit WR's that block. That's not even something that coaches consider. LOL

"Hey coach, I'm here to see your star WR."

"Sure Coach Richt. He's a stud. 5'11" 185lbs and runs a 3.9 forty. Had 832 catches this year for 12,093 yard."

"Well that's great coach. But can he block?"
