Funny story I went out there for a business training and I grew up in S. FL surfing so when I got to my hotel that was on the water I saw a nice swell that was breaking close to shore. I didn’t have a board so I decided I was going to body surf it. I got my bathing suit on and grabbed a towel from the room and ran down to the beach because I was so excited to go in. Threw my towel on the ground and ran into the water. As soon as I hit the water with my feet I felt this rush of cold pain and immediately turned around and left for the bar. LOL. It was in July so that should tell you it’s still cold in the summer.

I had a very similar experience... after that, I basically wore Antarctic Ice Diving wet suits in July.

I showed up in Huntington Beach to surf Cali, back in 85. Straight out of Florida. Young and brash and without any type of wet suit. I was in the water at dawn for my first session in the Pacific and after about an hour, some dude paddles over to me and says... you ain't from around here are ya? I was literally starting to shiver. The only thing keeping me warm was dropping into 10 ft. bombs!! Needless to say. The first thing I did after getting out of the water that day was score a spring suit.

Like clock work. If you don’t think he’s gone this proves it, right when said coach turns into trash or they’re upgrading “ it’s over. I mean it’s been over , they’re just realizing it.
