Dorsey Heisman

McGahee not winning the Heisman is a travesty.

This. 1800+ yards, 26 TDs (6 in one game - heisman moment), tons of receiving yards... screen pass against FSU = heisman moment

Fvck CFB. I wouldn't be so ****ed if we got that **** trophy instead.

The biggest injustice of all though is neither Ed Reed nor Sean Taylor winning the Thorpe.

That **** was epic. He got jobbed on the Heisman.

Who won them that yr? Roy Williams and dude from k state? Wack. Just like shockey should have had the Mackey.

excellent thread btw...the dac has figured out a way to keep us shut out of the awards system. By placing Dorsey and McGahee on the ballot, they KNEW the votes would be skewed, therefore nullifying our chances to win the award. Name any other time in recent history that has happened?

It's up there with Ed Reed not winning the Thorpe award in 2001 or Taylor not winning it in 2002.

The Jim Thorpe Association is who determines the winner of the award. The Jim Thorpe Association is based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Derrick Strait, who went to OU winning over ST? Seems a little fishy. Roy Williams (OU) over Ed Reed? Even when Bennie Blades won, it was a "tie" and he had to share it with Rickey Dixon (OU.) It seems like the JTA has a problem with the U...

Ken Dorsey not winning at least one Heisman is the biggest injustice in sports history.

Not really... Every year he started we had multiple finalists... I think Moss was 6th in the Heisman voting in 2000, McKinney was 9th and McGahee was a top 5... Dorsey didn't get the votes because he played on a team filled with future all-pro players... 2 all pro tight ends, 3 all pro wideouts, 5 NFL pro backs and 2 were all pro... Lets not forget the defense which was sick...

Sports history?
1. Roy Jones getting robbed of a Gold Medal in Seoul Olympics.
2. Larry Holmes getting robbed of breaking Marciano's records with a horrible decision loss to Michael Spinks.
3. Terry Porter.
4. 1988 Canes v. Notre Dame - Cleveland Gary robbed thrice on one play (1st down, no fumble and TD)

McGahee didn't even beat out Brad Banks or Larry Johnson. It wasn't even close that year. I'm not saying McGahee didn't deserve the award, just saying it's not like he finished a close 2nd.

Grossman was the best QB in 2001. I really felt like we would have played Florida in Pasadena had the UT/UF game not been postponed until late November.

Then Texas and Tennessee both crashed and burned which left us to play Nebraska after they had just given up 60.

Not directly related at all, but on the topic of Kenny D, he was getting a lot of TV time during the Panther game this past weekend. If Cam Newton stays on track like he has for another year, Kenny's name is going to get some nice heat for OC openings out there, especially on the college level. He's already getting a ton of the credit for what has been a strong resurgence for Cam.

You can thank Herb Fowler (yes that c0ckrat on Game-Day) for making sure that anybody other than a Miami Hurricane was given that award. They gave it to a crappy Oklahoma QB who he reasoned was important to his team than Dorsey was to the Canes . They gave it to Eric Crouch ...well...we know his stats. They (he) voted that Roy "one-hit" Williams was a better safety than Ed Reed. They would ignore Reeds's interceptions and multiple pass break-ups every game but would replay Williams' single big hit on a loop .
History has a way of making fools of people:- Jerry Jones made a big deal of picky Roy Williams high in the Draft....Ozzie Newsome smiled and took Reed 25th

Jason White got drafted by the 'Fins and barely lasted a seaon..he's since faded away from the NFL........Ken Dorsey lasted several seasons at 3rd-4th string and today is a highly respected NFL QB coach;

Eric Crouch couldn't cut it in any type of pro-football...Willis McGahee is today on the Cleveland Browns.

The GM of the Tenn. Titans said Antrelle Rolle was of questionable character because he confronted a guy in Coconut Grove about damaging his car....so instead he drafted Adam "Pac-Man" Jones ".
The list goes on....
