Don't know what to think of this, to believe it or not

A commit told me yesterday through DMs on Twitter that Richt gave notice to every commit except for Burns, Donaldson, Steed and Ford, that they would be reevaluated for an offer from the new staff. (This excludes CJ Henderson, he committed after I was told this)

IDK whether to believe this or not, just relaying what I was told.

I find it a little odd as 9 of the 10 commits (prior to Kearney decommitting) were formally invited to junior day.

mmm it's fair enough most coaches don't walk into a brand new season with 10ish commits they haven't offered themselves.

who wasn't invited to Junior Day?

Isn't junior day part of the evaluation process? So it would make sense that a new staff would tell everyone that they're going to be reevaluated as it were but still be invited to junior day. Makes sense to me. It would be odd if a top 10 coach in the country did not do this, don't you think?

I ca believe it, the question is when were they told this? This could have been a month ago that he gave notice. It also leaves only Ross, Kearney, Roberts (all jax area) and Beno, Dunning and Gamble from S Fla. Beno had injury last year and transfer schools, could be a flag. Gamble is a converted DE that is playing WR and quite honestly him and Pinder put up dismal stats last yr. Dunning is the head scratcher, But maybe he doesnt fit Diaz's schdmes.

I was thinking the same thing. Along with viewing tape of the kid, I could see Richt invite all of the commits to Junior Day and evaluate in person. If they are not in his vision for the future, you may see more decommits as Richt offers other studs that he wants. Of course, the elite will have their scholarship spot even though they are attending that day. Would not surprise me to see Richt tell some guys to search elsewhere and also see some new commits after next Saturday.

How do we feel about Ahman Ross? Haven't watched any tape but I recall everyone being pumped when he committed.

Thank God. The rest of them are questionable takes.

Just like kids are expected to reconsider their commitments when a new staff comes in, the new staff should evaluate and reconsider any kids offered by the old staff to make sure they fit in with what the new coaches want to do. So yeah, I believe the story. Could be a delicate situation given the overinflated egos of some of the kids involved but in the long run its the fairest way to treat both parties. I'll trust Richt in this.

I like it. It's the staffs job to make sure the players committed are Miami caliber. I trust this staffs evaluations more than the previous.

CMR should be able to buy the groceries he wants too bad about egos.

Hope it's true. The kids that were truly committed to the Canes will be anxious but will still work to prove to the new staff that they deserve an offer, the ones that are just using us as placeholders don't matter anyway. Meanwhile, imagine the recruit who gets reevaluated and reoffered. He'll now be committing to Richt. Will strengthen the relationship.

considering all the greif golden gets on this and other canes boards. u can't actually want this staff to just take goldens recruits and keep them without evaluating them for themselves do u?

especially all the 3 star kids golden likes to stock up on. lets be honest this is a great thing. this way miami gets the kids they really want and doesn't settle for golden specials.
