Read on Twitter that they offered him the HC job when Golden left and that they might pursue him again.....can't be for real right?

Doubtful he gets offered coming off a year coaching the 118th defense in the country. I bet he'd take it, though.

What I'd be interested to see would be what Golden does in that situation... give Barrow or Paul Williams the keys or go outside the program?

I doubt Ono leaves, but if he does, plenty if candidates out there that would love the opportunity.

Wouldn't hate it.

Agreed. Doubt he would leave for that job though especially considering he already turned it down once. I wouldn't mind Al Groh getting a shot to replace him; he would be a good fit and someone Golden is comfortable with.

Indeed...you really do have to be careful what you wish for. How would his leaving affect the decisions of the defensive players we are recruiting who we are currently saying are so vital to the success of our defense next season and going forward? I realize we were 118th this past season, but I thought most here felt that had everything to do with being young and poor recruiting at key positions by the previous regime. I favor having stability both with our roster and our staff. If we're 118th next season then I think replacing Coach D would be much less of a knee jerk reaction and based on a larger body of compelling evidence.

Don't mess with the stability we have right now in coaching. Let this thing play out for one more year.

I agree he deserves one more year to prove himself, but him leaving right now would hardly be catastrophic for the program.
