Does UNC beat Miami without TEZ Walker..

Tez Walker ran straight an caught the ball. Didnt high point it...do anything spectacular...nothing.

More than likely still do. Had it as a loss b4 the szn. If you play those same covg with those same guys it likely happens with whomever they put at that position.

Yup…The problem isn't even the NC loss

It's the total catastrophe of a loss the week before.

Yes but they also win if they hold onto the ball crossing the goal line along with any of the following:

1 - Don't give up a TD on 3rd and 20
2- Don't give up a TD on 3rd and 18
3 - Jaden Davis doesn't jump for the TD to Walker and just runs underneath it
4 - JW doesn't deflect the 3rd down pass going to be intercepted easily by Daryl Porter and likely results in a TD - almost walks into the end zone (JW also could have easily intercepted it himself if he wanted to)
5 - Don't botch a snap
6 - Jaden Davis doesn't fall for the double move on the sideline in a scramble drill
Can anyone explain why Mario declined that holding penalty that would’ve put them in 2nd and 30 and pushed them way out of FG range? I know they hit the bomb on the ensuing 3rd and 20, but realistically they only needed 5-8 yards on that play to kick a FG.

Im guessing because they were already pushed back, one less down to pickup a first down.. 3rd and 20 is supposed to be very difficult to pick up.. I can see why, even though they were bordering on fg range.. Its a true judgement call..

TVD doesnt throw into triple coverage on 4th down when Horton is wide open.

I mean, yeah...he scored 3 of those TDs and was the best player on the field for UNC and the biggest gap in talent was our CBs v. Tez Walker. Take him out of the picture, its a different game. Not a hot take.

The only reason for that is maybe they assumed Carolina was gonna run it to get into FG range. If not I don’t get it. When you’re in a 2nd and 30 spot, your goal immediately changes to getting into FG range. Maybe a run or a short pass to get some back. At best they’re back into the 3rd and 20 range. At worst it’s 3rd and 30.

My entire point is, they don’t take that deep shot if he accepts the penalty.

Oh I get it, when it happened live I was wondering why he didnt take it also, I dont feel confident in defense ability overall.. We couldnt stop run or pass while DC is losing his ******* mind on sideline.. I guess with Mario game decision rating soooooo low, this doesnt register as even top 20 questionable decisions for him overall..

No. UNC is better coached and adjusted to us well. We didn’t even move the ball on them 2nd half until they mailed it in. They were the better team and would have scored 55+ if they weren’t such a dumb team with backbreaking penalties.

They always matched up well to our weaknesses same as FSU

I agree that’s not close to the worst he’s done, but that choice ended the game. If the defense gets off the field or holds them to a FG, it’s still a game. Getting beat deep on that 3rd and long was not only a gut punch, but it was a realization that the DBs couldn’t stop them. It was the the proverbial **** breaking. It was the dagger.

Idk how that 3rd and 18 isnt getting more hate around here. That should be the headline with the blurb being how Guidry was only hired because he's next cave neighbors with Mario.

We were protecting the underneath stuff as if it was 3rd and 5 from their own 20 yard line. Not a single soul was ever in the endzone protecting it and Cammy Kinchens bit HARD on a pump fake that had him flying to about 5 yards above the LOS.

People seem not to grasp that if we accepted that and it was 2nd and 30, and they ran the same ******* play it’s either still a TD or a 3rd and less than 10 at the worst.

3rd and 20 is almost always better than 2nd and 30.

Like think about it if on 2nd and 30, they only picked up a short 10 yarder would you be happy? Yes. Lol.

Before the season we said our weakness was the defensive interior (I guess just run defense) and our corners. Unc smacked around both. We were right. They wore us down. Kept us off balance. We didn’t adjust to the tempo. Everything went right for them
