Does Morris have a Jacory Problem?

When this kid rips apart ACC defenses everyone who thinks down on Morris is going to diarea out of their nose

He ripped apart one awful ACC defense last year, NCSU, and had 2 good quarters against GT.. Took 2 quarters off against GT, took the whole game off against UNC, VT and FSU. (we should have been up by 4tds against VT at half)

I'm confident Coley gets the O and Morris going, though.

Impossible because Fish invented football.

He really didn't. KSU, ND, FSU and UNC made him look like Nix. Even UVA, where all we had to do is get a first down once in the last two posessions, and he ran a NIX 3 and out offense.

The premise of my initial post was just to draw attention to a bad tendency I've noticed in Morris.

He has all the tools to be a great QB but he needs to work on his progression and not force throws.

Learn to take the underneath and layoff the deep ball.

Some of his throws make my wanna close my eyes and pray in much the similar way as Jacory

No way. I've been reading on here that he was virtually flawless last year.

Nope, he was awful a LOT, especially when we needed him. BC, NCSU and GT, the rest he was bad at best.

Shut up. Kid just beat the gator! Two TD passes, one for over 50 yards--first time since 2010 the gator had its top taken off like that. We got 3 chances to score, he got 6 each time. And this after starting with his 3rd OC. What the **** do you want? If you feel the need to trash a QB, jump on over to a swamp scum site, they are hanging Driskell. Ask them if they would had like to switch qbs at half.

We have evolved from Jacarris into Stevorris. Wonderful. Stronger arm, but what remains in the head is still the pea sized brain.

he doesnt throw guys open, he has to see the guy then use his rocket launcher to get it there. Its gonna be an issue for him with elite college comp and the next level

He forced two long balls into bad coverage that I can recall from the Florida game that were almost picked. One exactly like it in the FAU game both where Dorsett nearly had to climb over the DB back to break up the pass. That percentage compare to the rest of his output is still rather low though. They are just a glaring mistake which makes them seem more frequent. He will be alright.

I think last year Stephen got off to a slow start in our first 3 games if I remember correctly, even against Bethune. Then against GT he seemed to get into gear and start playing better. If he struggles against Savannah St which is prob the worst D2 school then I think questions need to be answered, but until then IM not worried

Coley catches those 2 balls vs FAU and our receivers don't drop a couple passes then his stats look different, nonetheless we played one of the best defenses in Fla whether we want to admit it or not, but Stephen made it count on 2 beautiful throws for TD's

I don't think he was bad against Duke, Va Tech or USF... N.Carolina he didn't play his best and ND, but we had a lot of guys dropping balls last year too. Cant hang it all on Morris

Something I've noticed in the first two games about Stephen Morris is that he has been trying to force the deep ball throws to Dorsett even with blanket coverage.
This is very Jacory like. He needs to learn to take the underneath throws which there was a couple against UF. He doesn't go through his progressions either but rather locks onto a receiver. Has anyone else noticed this tendency?

I think the problem was that Morris was consistently deciding pre-snap where he was going to throw the ball. There was very little, if any, methodical progression to find the open receiver.

Perhaps, this was Morris's way of getting rid of the ball quickly to avoid the pass rush, but it certainly was ineffective.

That's why there is an Amos Alonzo Fisch Bowl.

No because this kid has an arm, Jacory lacked an arm.

One of Jacory's problems was he did not know he had a terrible deep ball. He would constantly underthrow players all the time because of this problem.

^^^^^ this

Jacory gave safeties "big eyes". His deep ball looked like a punt. Nice hang time caused safeties to drool with anticipation. At least when Morris throws into coverage, the ball doesn't hang in the air forever.

Just to be clear, I was mocking the sudden genius in absentia of Ned Fish, not Morris.
