Randy thought benching was only something that was done to players in his doghouse.

Sean Spence: Coach I just benched a ton
Randy: Oh yeah, watch this..... *Randy proceeded to bench every player on the roster not from Dade/Broward*
Randy: Hows that for benching a ton?
Spence: uhhhh....

LOL!!! Hey Gathors, out AD can kick your AD's ***!!! How old is James? A 400 lift bench is pretty good and it is tough to get as you get older. My all time max was just over 400 and I had a goal to maintain it and lift 400 on my 40th birthday. Didn't make it.

Although I've never attempted four hundred, I'm sure I could do it over a matter of days, or a week, or so. Is there a limit on the number of lifts you're allowed to total the four hundred, you know, like four lifts totaling 400?

We used to have an AD who could probably lift a lot. That was Dave Maggard about 23 years ago, who used to be an Olympian in one of the field events, like the discus or shot, don't remember which.

Looked it up. He was on the '68 Olympic team as a shot-putter.

We had a player at UM in the early '80's, Rick Cochran, whose father was--I think--the same Richard Cochran who won a bronze at the '60 Olympics in discus. I have a recollection of that from a long tme ago. Rick was a DE or LB from Gainesville, who suffered a career-ending neck injury. That was back around '81 or so.

Don't sleep on Dee; that man lugged around 350# everywhere he went.
