Do we put 8 in the box and force Driskell to beat us in air

I really think he and his receivers are their weakest link I would bring up as many defenders as needed to negate the run and make him beat us with his arm which I don't think he can.

Man, you know coach 'D' is NOT going to do that! It makes too much sense... Look for us to stay in our base defense until they start having some success moving the ball. THEN we may resort to putting 8 in the box.

Yes but our DB's can't give 10 yard cushions. He is bad but is capable of dump passes that like BC 2 years ago will hurt

I don't think Miami is even going to need to put 8 in the box to shut this running game down. Nothing about the UF offense impressed me against Toledo. That O-line of theirs is suspect. If the Canes just play their brand of smash mouth football the UF offense gets shuts down.

I don't want to start out that way, but if UF shows success running the ball, we need to be able to adjust and bring more guys into the box.

I don't think we need to put 8 men in the box. We've got a brand new DL made up of juniors and seniors who will not get blocked into the Gulf of Mexico on every play.

Dunbar had a decent first game and Burton will make his plays, but if we can't stop their running game, it's going to be a long day. I hope we can be dominant in the run stopping.

What do you care what we do? You've got to spend the next 3 days getting ready for the game and have no time to find a white shirt. You've got way too much work to be worried about trivial things like scheme.

I love cat fights!

Florida is a hard team to read. They can play **** good at times and then look like sht the next two weeks. I will assume they are going to play much better this week and be ready to run the ball and play lights out D. Their offense revolves around a strong run game. Miami needs to shut it down early and see what he can do throwing it. If they start to roll in the running game it will be a long day for Miami. I don't think UM wins by trying to out score Florida. Shut the run game down and get some 3 and out's early. No way we should be playing back on our heels and not stacking the box.

let me expound on why the answer is NO.....

our D-line is better then their O-line and our Linebackers are big enough and tough enough to stop the run game w/o loading the box..... also if you load the box all game its going to leave too many wholes for the offense to exploit in the passing game.

Driskell might not be a good QB but he aint a retarded one either.

The key is containing Driskell. Very good athlete with surprisingly good wheels. Need to make him uncomfortable and keep people in his face. When pressured, he'll scramble around trying to break containment. So need to minimize the big gainers or the big throws on the run. Gators have reverted to old school SEC - grind it out, wear you down, play field position, play defense. Right now, Driskell is probably the wild card, the lone big play threat . . . contain him and Miami will be hard to beat!

Seemed like we used nickel a lot against FAU
Seven should be enough.

I don't believe we should put 8 in the box...at least not to start off with. Uf has to be expecting us to do so. I agree with others on here as well that I think our D-line is improved and our LB's are bigger/faster/stronger than they were a year ago.

I would see what works early and then make an adjustment. Not worried about stopping Driskel, just worried about execution and making the most of our opportunities.

Can't leave points on the board, can't have drops (Cooley) and blown opportunities (Denzel). You want to know why Notre Dame game got out of hand because we didn't execute and take advantage of our opportunities.

You will always let up yards and points, these are expected during any game but you cannot blow opportunities.

When did we become some amazingly physical team that can shut down good running teams while playing cover-2?
