Dnofrio scenario

Dorito is Golden's boy. He's not going anywhere. They played together and have coached together for 9 years.

Golden also ran a very similar defense at UVA when he was DC'ing there. This is what we are.

Golden ran a 3-4 at Virginia because Al Groh is a 3-4 guy. Miami is running some 3-4 looks. Miami is also running 4-3 and 4-3 Under and 4-2-5.

Gawd almighty. Why does everything here have to be such a ridiculous extreme? "People love Coach D and are on his bandwagon", or "people hate Coach D and want him gone".

How about "Some people are objective and are taking a wait and see approach". On paper, our defense has improved significantly since last year. Our team is currently 7-1, and for all the boo hooing about the defense, our offense did jack squat against Wake and UNC, and it was our Defense that kept us in those games. Yes they got lit up by FSU, but Bama's defense got lit up WORSE by TAMU. Good offenses will do that sometimes. And we are NO WHERE NEAR the talent level Bama has.

Fact is no one should be crowning Coach D, or calling for his head either. As he and AG get more of their guys into the system, and guys learn their system more, we will see how it evolves. If it continues to improve, then maybe there will come a time we can crown Coach D, if it sh*ts the bed, then there will be ample room to call for his head. But to call for his head when we are 7-1, HAVE improved over last year, with half the season left to play, is asinine IMO.

We were 116th in Total Defense last season. Think about that. 116th. We are currently 32nd in Total defense this year so far. That is a GIGANTIC leap in one year, if we can sustain it, and with most of our best and talented players being young, who will only get bigger, better and more experienced.

Before making blanketing statements about the offense not being better under coley than fisch can you do research?

We are average 18 more yards a game and through 8 games our average yards per play is up to 7.05 from 6.46.
We are 200 rushing yards away from eclipsing our total rushing output last season.
We are 1,500 pass yards away from eclipsing last year total. Which if you remember Morris' hot streak over the last 4 games of last season his numbers were pretty close at this point last season.

3rd down conversion last year was 39.41%
3rd down this year 40.21%

Last year our redzone TD% was 51.92%
this year our redzone TD% is 64.10%

So as you can see that in some areas we have greatly improved. The area we have not improved in 3rd down. Which tells me that we are not a good 1st and 2nd down team. And also that 1 common denominator is Stephen Morris who last year completed 58% of his passes and this year he's at 59%. Last year he wasn't injured. Which means that even though he is playing hurt, this is who SteMo is. at best 60% completion passer. So I don't think it's a lack of Coaching by Fisch or Coley but the QB they have limits the offense.

Stats this year are skewed by the Savannah State game, especially points per game. Throw out either ND or Kansas State last year and drop this year's Savannah State stats in there for a truer comparison.

Im not saying I agree or disagree with anyone. I just have to point out that you can't really compare the performances of this years team vs. last. Go look up the SOS for each team. I'll hang up and listen.

Also, have to put myself in the crowd that these guys should not be judged until year 5 or 6 given the extreme circumstances of the situation they inherited. If that makes me a ******, so be it, but I like the way the program is headed. Some of yall need to learn patience. The shear fact that this staff can coherent put together a press conference puts them light years ahead of the last staff. Golden will get it done, unfortunately we may have to swallow a few title runs by FSU in the mean time because Jimbob is putting together a monster. If it weren't for the word probation and Miami's affinity towards it, Im pretty sure FSU wouldn't even have a program. ******' sucks.

Just compare ACC performance IMO.

2012: UNC, FSU, GT and NCState

v

2013: UNC, FSU, GT and WF

What's a better question is, say if a huge school like Texas or USC or who ever wanted to look at Al and say All was interested, do they pass on Al because they know DNofrio is coming g with him or do they say we will take u but leave the douche def coord at Miami?

But Al is already at a huge school...
