Where are the commits? Make no mistake, I am 100% behind coach Simpson and I'm not panicking by any means. That being said it is a fair question.

The entire DL is a huge need in Surge 19 and we have playing time to sell. Lets discuss where we are currently in terms of our board for DT and DE and where we stand.

I agree....

-Ingraham prob the next DL commit
-Tyler Davis seems to have us 3rd as of now behind clemson and OSU. Staff loves him tho
- who knows with Jaquaze
- good spot with Bogle and Summerall I just don't think they are deciding anytime soon.
- I would prob expect 1-2 Georgia DL this class

Simpson has been here for 3 months. We already have Williams and Daxon. No need to get your panties all twisted up.

His "panties aren't all twisted up", in fact he literally said in the post that he's not.

That's the problem with some of yall, always on the defensive to the point where nothing can ever be discussed.

Its not a crime to ask questions & OP is a solid poster who isn't trolling or trying to bash the staff. It happens every class, people ask legit questions all year & are constantly attacked because of it, then come NSD everyone is left wondering why we didn't get certain prospects.

I believe we'll have a great DLine haul this class & have faith Coach Simpson will get it done, but there's nothing wrong with trying to get a clearer picture of what's the current temperature on the crootin trail.

Simpson didn’t recruit either of those kids. Simpson has 0 commits as of rn.

So what? Its not like he's a college coach that just switched teams and had a couple ready made kids ready to commit to him. He needs time to build relationships. Jesus christ, he's been at Miami literally 3 months and you want him to stockpile talent already? Dude was in Atlanta working on the highest levels of football with grown *** men, not babysitting a bunch of high school kids.

Richt is thinking long term here, not a short term fix. If we don't get the kids we want this year, we'll plug away to get the 2020 class.

I’m not saying anything and I don’t disagree with you. Your statement was incorrect that’s all I’m tehing to say. I’m not bashing Simpson at all.

I agree. It would be a plus to have a few more DL in the fold right now.

I believe in the end Bogle will be a Cane. I'd love to get Davis and Ingraham to add to the class. I think we'll end up with 1 or 2 DL from GA. Is it safe to say the staff is looking to take 6-7 DLmen?

I do not expect Ingraham to commit anywhere anytime soon.

I clearly understand what you are saying here. My point is that this isn't 100% on Simpson. I get that Simpson will continue to strengthen the bonds he currently has with recruits but there are still plenty of reasons for kids to want to commit to us regardless of how long Simpson has been on the job.

1. I strongly agree that Richt is thinking long term, particularly about using the state of Georgia to address the type of line players we don't see much in South Florida.
2. I strongly disagree with the "eh, we can always hit it next year" mentality. That is particularly true for OL and DL as they are seldom immediate contributors. You have to have depth, and be developing them in S&C, as they are unlikely to be plug and play guys.

I’ve been feeling the same way for a lil while now, but never posted it. When was the last time we signed 3 DTs in one class? That’s our expectation, and coupled with our struggles to land them in the past, rightfully and justifiably can make a fan question some things.

Think your post could have been more why Canes can not recruit D line, when in past there have been many great one pass through here. When first read it thought you were sorta saying Simpson not getting it done.

Can we wait until the cycle is over before saying things like "I've been really disappointed by a brand-new coaches' efforts so far". Its barely the summer.
