This is bullsh*t.
At first it was playing in the SEC in prime time games, but now since "Big Game" Brian Kelly is gonna lose the majority of those games like he always does, it's about being comfortable & getting early playing time.
Which is hilarious because one of their starting CB's Ashton Stamps, is a True Sophomore & one of their starting Safeties Dashawn Spears, is a True Freshman.
They signed 3 CB's & 3 S's in their 24 class, plus brought in a CB & 2 Safeties from the Portal, all of which still have at least 1-2 years of eligibility left.
Meaning, the majority of the DB units are underclassmen, so unless DJ Jr has been guaranteed ZY Alexander's starting spot for next year, they have multiple players that are primed to get starting opportunities in their Secondary.
But, if he is the shoo-in starter at Field, then they're probably gonna have a pretty large exodus of CB's in the Portal this Winter/Spring.
