What year do think it is? Ty Willingham killed ND football and got a job at UW so I have to disagree.
How is having a bad season in football the same as being responsible for the death of one of your players ?

I don’t agree with everything the writer said but you’re lying to yourself if you think a black coach gets a chance at a big time university after that . You think they faced pressure about Durkin before ? Now imagine that outrage plus the racial element . If you think those coward letter writing racists aren’t in hiding waiting for **** like that, I invite you to visit any FoxNews article comment section about a black person getting killed .

I invite you to the comment section of RapHouseTV on instagram when a video is shown of gang violence in Chicago. That FoxNews comment section is pus$y in comparison.

I’m shocked that people still dont understand how sports work. Talent/results vs baggage has always been the game. The better you are at your job, the longer leash you will get. How many chances did AB get? What about Mark Walton? See the difference? Same goes with coaches.

Schools that want to win don’t care about optics. He got cleared by investigators. He’s gonna find many more jobs. Get used to it.

Art Briles seems to be one of the very few that is considered too far.

I can't think of any minority coach getting a second chance at any school worth a **** after killing a player, and having such a toxic program. Imagine if Mario was running that kind of ship at FIU. Dude would have been coaching at Columbus for the rest of his adult life, he wouldn't have been allowed to SNIFF another college gig.

It's amazing how people jump to a conclusion at times.

Did he stand over the poor young man who had his life on the line and simply say he's fine? No, but that won't stop people pointing in the wrong direction like he was some executioner or something.

Now if your stance is that his medical staff was responsible and by default he is, so be it. They screwed up and unfortunately, it'll happen again somewhere else, it's just a matter of time. It doesn't make it right, but professionals do ***** up.
Toxic environment that made it possible if not likely a player would die. That's why Durkin got fired and why Maryland got sued. Sometimes, you don't have to be holding the gun to be held responsible for the action. Durkin encouraged an extremely toxic culture at Maryland, and it's not shocking someone ended up dead because of it. Dave Bliss didn't kill Pat Dennehy, but he sure as **** created a culture in which something like that could happen, then he participated in a cover up.

They fired him because they needed a fall guy. They cleared him of it, but then bent under pressure. Classic case of perception becoming reality during a time when the truth really doesn't matter, just the narrative you can build and get support behind.

We've got people on here saying he killed a player and that isn't the case.

Durkin wasn't even close to being a "Fall Guy". Frankly, he should have been fired for the crap he did before McNair died. Dude had an insanely toxic culture at Maryland, it was like he was trying to create sociopaths for something(Considering that he was an Urban Meyer guy, I'm not shocked). This isn't 1955, where coaches could straight up abuse student athletes and everyone was cool with it. He wasn't cleared of anything, outside of being criminally liable, and the Maryland BOT thought that people would ignore what had happened. If half of this crap is true, he shouldn't be allowed to coach anywhere. Then again, we have a lot of dumbass meatheads in our fanbase that support this nonsense.
