Auburn, Tennessee, & the most/the rest of the SEC plays 8 games at home & 4 on the road this season. This hasn't been uncommon throughout college football, yet we split our games between home and road almost if not every season as far back as I can remember. I realize this is the difference between playing two more Ball States at home as opposed to going on the road and whooping UF & USF on the road...definitely not what I'd rather see.

The difference now is the fact that NIL plays a big role in making and keeping teams competitive, and when teams like Tennessee will now start alotting a percentage of ticket sales towards their NIL collective, teams that play more home games will have a significant financial advantage. 2 more home games at Neyland - 100k seats x 10% of $50/seat avg = $1 million additional into their collective than teams like us. I realize we have other sources of funding, but this is an uneven playing field.

Is it time for conferences to agree on an equal number of home and away games? If not, how long until we start scheduling only home OCC games & throw some more $ in the pie?

I think we need to be careful of jumping at shadows. Remember than NIL and the portal as part of their inception were supposed to be the thing that either (a) increased the divide or (b) created greater parity in the sport.
Fundamentally, in terms of good teams being good and the number of upsets and the overall “look” of cfb, everything has remained rather similar.

Bama and Georgia are good, USC can’t get over the hump, Miami are not quite back again. Yeah the Vols are making a push, good for them, so are we.

The past is only the future with the lights on. I don’t think this will actually move the needle that far.

TN has done this for years. They’ll have 6-7 home games and then 1 or 2 more in state.

Mich and OSU also. Last year I dont think Mich left home for the first half of season, lol..

Would bet our lease at Hard Rock limits the number of games we're allowed per year to 6 or 7. I can't remember how many times we've had 7 home games.

That's why you see us going to App State, Temple, USF, etc.

This is not a new phenomenon. Ohio State, Penn State and plenty others have had 7/8 home games for a long time. As @genxcane mentioned above, it’s the competitive advantage inherent to winning the home games that’s the issue far more than any NIL component.

All good points. But we don’t get Cam Ward without NIL. He would be the NFL.

Does track record in selling out home games have anything to do with that? Officially or unofficially?

Is there anything left in Boone after the hurricane? I've heard its really bad there....
Only seen images but they were hit pretty hard with flooding. Didn’t look like there was a lot of damage to buildings but streets were full of mud.

John Ruiz' stadium will take care of that little problem

And honestly that's ******* fun.

I hate it when teams have a Home and Home schedule against a smaller team. Sack up and go play them in their stadium you cowards.

I think this will be a non issue going forward, as the B1G and $EC will be increasing their number of conference games.

I had a great time at that game aside from their students throwing almost full cans and glass bottles of beers at us as we walked up to the gate lol
We drove to Boone the week before and scouted out the stadium and places to park. When we got there game day, we found a family that had a spot about 1/2 mile from the stadium that were Canes. They let us park for free!

We scalped a couple of tickets from a guy on a corner by the stadium for $150 each. Tickets on Stubhub and Ticketmaster were going for $7-900. We got really lucky as the tickets were right in the middle of the Canes section, 25 yard line about 20 rows up.

We had a blast.
