Did you guys see what Happened in the Fresno/Hawaii game?

Randy only wanted recruits that wanted to be Canes because he didnt want to recruit them. He just wanted to know how many LOI to send out

#25 Fresno up 42-3 mid way thru the 3rd quarter.

Takes foot off the gas, resting players, etc

Hawaii scores THIRTY FOUR, unanswered to make it 42-37 AND has the ball at the end to try and win the game.

Hawaii is horrific this year, not the Hawaii of old.

That's why you gotta go with the old "If you're still trying, I'm still trying" approach.

You wanna leave your #1's in... I'm going to keep playing my guys (minus a few at key spots) and we gunna roll you into the ground.

THat's why GOlden will never win at Miami. He's too nice. Shannon never would have taken his foot off the gas if ever got his team in that position.

I think the OP was being sarcastic. No way USF was coming back from being 35 points down in the 4th quarter.

As long as it's the 2's and 3's, they should continue to run the offense into the 4th. If it's a blowout then, then start running the ball.

Jimmy Johnson wouldnt have let up on anybody

I know that b/c I saw "THE U" 30 for 30

BOOM!!

/ He needs to call his buddy Al Golden on the phone and talk to em about this issue of showing mercy to **** *** teams that dont deserve it.

smh, yeah I'm sure Jimmy would know what can happen since his squad allowed what at the time was the biggest choke job in college football history and is still the largest in UM history. Even with that Jimmy would sub players during blowouts he just wouldn't take no crap from the backups, they needed to be busting *** just like the 1's were. I'm pretty sure Golden did the same thing last week or did my eyes deceive me and Crow played another down after the BS he pulled in the fourth qtr?

Someone enlighten me, did Jimmy Johnson ever drastically pull starters out in the 3rd quarter of games, if it wasnt against a D2 school?

The only position Shannon's teams were in was missionary and the buck.

I guess that depends on what you mean by "drastically." Jimmy said that he would never tell his guys not to play their hardest, so that his only way to avoid running up the score was to sub in a lot of backups. These backups were still encouraged to play their best, however.

I think that Coach Golden may have been motivated partly by "etiquette," but that to a large extent he was just doing what he felt was best for the development of the team. After playing mostly experienced players against Florida, he stated that he wanted to start integrating a number of the younger guys into the active, game-day group. Thus, I think he welcomed the opportunity to sub in a lot of guys like Alex Gall, Raphael Kirby, Artie Burns, Ufomba Kamalu, Corn Elder, Jermaine Grace, and Gus the Bus. I think Coach Golden also enjoyed putting in some players that will rarely see any action once the ACC schedule starts. That was probably satisfying and fun for them (maybe not a consideration for you, but quite possibly a major one for the coach).
