So Diaz says he like the QBs we have on campus, YET, he went through the transfer portal this season, and says, “if necessary”, will use the portal again to “make the team better.”
Make that make sense? Lol.

First off, not having a QB or CB in this class in the month of November absolutely is ?able. We trying to get better for the long run. Can’t keep relying on these band aids.

That’s coach speak. Translation: They like TVD and are unsure if King comes back. If King leaves, they’ll dip in the portal because they aren’t sure about playing a RS Frosh next year and Kosi is not the answer. Especially on the offensive side, these aren’t this staff’s guys outside of some of the frosh. We shouldn’t be surprised or feel some type of way about them seeking to upgrade on that side IMO. No indictment on their evals.

But in general, I agree with @Apex Predator that all portal ain’t created equal, and it’s about to get even wilder with even more talent starting this summer with the rule change. We should absolutely take full advantage of that where it makes sense for. The game has changed, these kids are changing — can’t get stuck in the past there. I respect Manny for being at the forefront there. What’s the difference between taking a JAG in the portal versus a frosh if it doesn’t work out? The portal JAG is typically here shorter anyways.
