MIAMI TO BUILD ON-CAMPUS STADIUM
Coral Gables, FL (UT) - The University of Miami announced plans to build a 70,000 seat on campus stadium in a statement tonight. "We are beyond excited to finally bring football to the grounds of the University itself," said Coach Manny Diaz. "And we will truly put a U spin to this facility."
While cost has yet to be revealed, the plans disclosed reveal that the administration plans to drain Lake Osceola, which dominates the center of the campus. Once complete, the area would be filled in and a football-only facility would be constructed. University of Miami President Julio Frenk stated that Miami would ensure that compassionate, humane measures be used to transplant the lake's resident wildlife to new locations, which include manatees, barracudas, and crocodiles.
