Is there any objective standard for determining whether or not a recruit has an actual offer from the school at which he claims an offer? Have guys ever claimed to have offers from schools that, in fact, have not offered them?

Seems like a gigantic offer list, so color me a little skeptical that he sat around as long as he did without jumping on a Bama, FSU or Ohio State offer. He's either an incredible poker player, or he doesn't have all of those offers.

They're self reported. The dude used to be committed to Colorado State or some ****. Not saying he can't play or that he can't play for us, but if this dude actually had those offers he wouldn't be just sitting out there for us.

Right but the point is that this kid doesn't have standing offers from the schools on that list.

Listen the kid is good and we need help. What else matters.?! He is Richt approved. Welcome to the U...

I knew the answer to my question. I asked it to make the point that I find it hard to believe that a guy with FSU, Bama and Ohio State offers is just sitting around accumulating offers instead of jumping on one of those great offers.

I think there is much higher probability that these kids have the offers they say they do than people on this site actually knowing what the F there talking about.

I was trying to say that most Juco's are offered "conditional" offers, especially from top power 5 schools who are fluidly trying to upgrade, account for early departures/transfers etc. Like our situation, with Burns leaving and Elder on the fence a conditional offer immediately turns into committable. We're splitting hairs anyway, the terms "offer" and "committed" don't mean what they should these days. Neither is binding.

It does appear his coach is backing up at least a large portion of his offer claims.

He claims he has an offer from Miami on his twitter and multiple outlets are reporting the same thing.

He would definitely help for corner depth. Since Artie is likely gone, our corner depth is Corn (if he's even coming back) and Redwine are the only experienced corners we have coming back. A Juco CB like Davis could come in immediately and help out.

Who has he visited so far?

That should tell you who has real interest in the young man.

That offer list looks like one that belongs to a cant-miss high end talent.

He does not look that talented.
