But it's not really. The AD does a lot more than just football. And basically how it operates right now is Blake is pretty ******* hands off regardless if we suck or not. So for him it really wouldn't be changing much. He'd still be out fundraising. He just wouldn't have control over the football decisions like hires/fires or recruiting or any of that. He raises the money, and Highsmith spends it.
Agreed. I dont see why he would have an issue with it when he really isnt involved in football already. He hires the coach and walks away. I think Diaz has an issue, and with Diaz being his buddy that he gifted the job to, he's taking up Diaz's fight.

This story is a set up. It’s mostly true, the Mario bit is designed to make James look REALLY bad, given the fact that Cristobal’s Ducks not only bested Wisconsin but didn’t wilt against the Badgers the way Miami did.

I seriously doubt that Cristobal is going to want or need Highsmith around “helping” him.

Just can't figure out why Mario would leave Oregon to become the Canes head coach.

Oregon is on the cusp of becoming a playoff team and potential National Champion. Their football/athletic facilities are a college football Disney Land. Phil Knight is their multi-billionaire Sugar Daddy who has proven to be a never-ending ATM machine. Anything Mario wants he gets. He is the King Tutt/Elvis Presley of Oregon. And, he's raising his family in one of the most beautiful areas of the world where the crime rate is a fraction of what it is in Miami.

And he's going to leave that to come to Miami where if he doesn't win a National Championship his first-year banner planes will be flying and billboards erected calling him the worst coach ever and demanding he be fired, horsewhipped and tied to the bumper of a car and dragged out of town...not to mention his family members being dragged across hot coals.

Because it’s home and he knows how great Miami can be if they ever get the right person to lead us. Mario is doing a good job but don’t kid yourself just like when Chip was there even with all the Nike money Oregon ceiling was/is a lot lower than Miami.

It used to be that way. Not really sure why people think stu hasnt always been a sports guy. Ask anyone inside about that & they'll tell you hes just fed up. What ****es me off is both were instrumental in the problem at hand because of deal with mandy sr. But to acknowledge we have an issue that has to be dealt with is critical. Board has been split now for far too long because they all see themselves as so knowledgeable and opinionated if I had to guess. They're basically lobbying for control. Just have to figure out what the people voting against need to vote for. Flake and mandy will be **** out of luck if any of this is true. Especially cause paul is very hard headed. He wont take this lightly if it doesnt work out.
All Facts.....

Per a source with knowledge of the meeting, a group of high-level donors met with Blake James on Friday. The purpose of the meeting was to offer significant money if Manny was willing to make necessary changes.

Most notably, the group wanted Alonzo Highsmith to take on a general manager role that would usurp some of Blake and Manny’s power over the football program. One booster even offered to pay Highsmith’s salary for two years. Blake refused and instead offered a more traditional “chief of staff” role that was mostly administrative in nature.

Highsmith is not expected to accept the offer and instead is in discussions with Mario Cristobal at Oregon.
Blake on borrowed time. He can’t afford anymore ***** ups

This isn't 1993 and Oregon is a more attractive job than Miami, period. This is a man's career, he wants to have every advantage imaginable, and no one in their right mind leaves somewhere where they have that, to handcuff themselves, just because they popped out of their mother's ****** in another location. Mario also knows his limitations. He knows that he's an awful gameday coach, he desperately needs to be able to consistently outtalent the opposition, because the next time he wins with scheme will be the first time. Guess what, Oregon provides you with the resources to win that way. Miami doesn't.

Miami should be looking to find a coach that can work within the confines of the job, and can thrive with what Miami offers. In other words, a person that can get the most out of the talent on the roster, that can use scheme to put the playmakers in position to succeed, and recruits based on scheme fit, and develop said talent. The 2001 roster isn't coming back to Miami, times have changed, it's borderline impossible to find that many diamonds in the rough in today's recruiting world. That said, Miami can and should be able to find enough talent to win 10+ games yearly, and with the right pieces, compete for CFP berths on a somewhat regular basis. But as long as Miami keeps doing this "Miami Guy Bro" nonsense, we will keep getting the same exact results.

So basically you’re applying assumptions to what Mario thinks about his coaching ability because you don’t feel like he’s a coach YOU would want at Miami got it. Everything you wrote was 100% nonsense. Coaches don’t sit around thinking they aren’t good enough to win in xyz places. If that was the case Mario wouldn’t have been considering Miami last year before Manure usurped him.

And then when that doesn’t work they’ll just promote Banda to HC.
Fans are already irate over the 2019 season. With the fans and the big money donors wanting the gone, the University President will step in if they don't resign. It won't be that difficult. So, they better get their shiit together or else.

Kelly took the Ducks to four consecutive BCS Bowl Games and the 2011 BCS National Championship Game, where they lost to Auburn on a last-second field goal. Additionally, he took them to 2 BCS Rose Bowls and a BCS Fiesta Bowl.

That seems to prove that Oregon's ceiling is at least the same as Miami's, and regrettably, even higher.

As for Miami, Mario's home town, being an asset in terms of luring him away from Oregon, when he briefly signed with the Canes and Alabama offered him a job all you could hear was his screeching car tires and see was his rapidly fading taillights as he rocketed out of town.

Again, I just don't see the upside for Mario to join the Canes, but could write several paragraphs on the potential downside for him if he were to join the Canes.

And by the way, I am regularly called a "slurper" (which I proudly embrace) so the above admission **** near kills me.

That was a rumor, odds are that Mario was trying to parlay himself a nice raise from Oregon. One day, our "Fans" will join the rest of us in the 21st century and realize that college football is like professional baseball. In other words, richest team usually wins. Give me one reason why Mario or any coach at a power school with unlimited resources in a significantly weaker conference would come here, and avoid throwing the "He went to school here" card.

Mario, like most professionals knows that you don't get brownie points for putting obstacles in front of your success. There's a reason why he job hopped on Miami when Alabama came calling. He's a merc, and Oregon is a perfect merc job. He can win 10+ games by letting the machinery work and the "Recruiting" executed, and he will be paid like a God in the process. Why come to Miami, where you have legitimate obstacles, just because? Exactly.
