Welcome to UVA South boys. Golden is terrible and this Bowl performance makes it clear as day. I want to puke.

sucks how a staff can be elite when recruiting but then regresses to peewee level on game day

I feel no different today than three years ago after our embarrassment against notre dame...this is worse though back then I had hope in Al god I want to believe in that guy but I don't know he's a tireless recruiter but in terms of player development and X's and O's not to mention coordinator hires, he hasn't shown much more than previous regimes I guess I can still hold on to the hope that when our team is fully made up of players that he recruited without the cloud in 2017 or 2018 we can be a competitive team

I swear to you that besides recruiting, Golden is no better--and arguably worse--than Coker and Shannon. If Golden coached the 2000-2002 teams, and used his same philosophies, we would have lost several games and never sniffed a title game. He's the worst. This was his season to show us that he was capable of leading us to the promised land, and with a veteran-laden team, the dude put up a ******* piece of **** season.

I'm VERY close to wanting for us to lose and implode, so that he's fired because I don't see how a guy who put up these results with this team can ever win us a title. He's terrible. Terrible planning for games; terrible in the game; terrible in-game coaching instincts; and terrible overall football philosophy. He's horrible.

Our athletic department should be lined up and shot, one by one, for blowing, yet again, the selection of the football program's leader.

What is this veteran laden team nonsense I keep reading about?

This senior class is awful. Just downright awful. When the guys who you are meant to rely on (the seniors) are the least talented guys on the team you're in trouble.
 
I sometimes wonder if the fanboys actually want to win games, or whether they'd prefer to just apologize for and rationalize the failures of the incompetent men who our athletic department chooses to lead our team.

This gets at the heart of the matter, but it goes one level up to the President of the University. That's the common thread in all three hires. She has the program she wants. We do not allocate resources or adjust admissions at the level of the schools with which we fans believe we should compete. Until things change up top, the same puppets will keep putting on the same sad show season after season.
 
Congrats Donna, for fulfilling your dream of neutering this program into a docile, flaccid jellyfish. You put us on a morphine drip and we just drifted off into nothingness as we trusted you.

Let's sum up how you did it, so you and your academia pals can cherish the deft transition to a spineless irrelevance :

When you hired Coker who crippled the program's rudder into a meandering fade and the program sort of ran aground.
When you hired Shannon (blown away by his written presentation), and saddled the school with a who dat moron, who burnt HS recruiting bridges, and spread dysfunction like a virus into the breathable program atmosphere.
When you dumped the Orange Bowl, killing our home field asylum, drained our life's blood, & jettisoned our history - and justified it by taking a check.
Shook hands with Nevin Shapiro and suckered for it by taking a check.
When you hired Golden I'm afraid, who stubbornly tarries while Miami burns....but **** he sounds great (you must be so proud).

You knew all along that one doesn't need to outrightly kill the program, you just slowly neutered it right down to the nub.

Well I don't totally disagree that wants to have an average football team why did you fire the previous two coaches then?
 
Al Golden is Larry Coker with better organizational and salesman skills in recruiting. Here is is, after yet another ******* humiliating loss where we give up over 500 yards, and the dude is still talking about sanctions. He's such a c0cksmoker. For those that remember me from the Grassy days, this is what I felt like when Coker and Shannon coached us. Same level of frustration, same incompetence.

I didnt believe it at first, but now I am fully baptized in this religion. The U admin and president have exactly the program they want.
 
Dammit Map, imma rustled as the rest, but blaming Goldens for the U's demise is like blaming Yamamoto for WWII.
