2025 Derek Meadows 5* WR from Gormon

Is it me or is there a lot of busts from Gorman? Not just at Miami but nationally.
It’s you.

How about Zachariah Branch, the USC WR who tore it up as a freshman and continues to be one of the most dynamic receivers and return men in college football.

How about Rome Odunze, the first round WR pick of the Chicago Bears. He had a spectacular debut last week.

How about Ronnie Stanley, the former OT for Notre Dame who is now with the Ravens and is recognized as one of the premier tackles in the NFL.

How about DeMarco Murray, the great Oklahoma RB

How about Dorian Thompson-Robinson, the UCLA QB now with the Browns.

FYI. SJ’s OL teammate from Gorman, Douglas Utu, just flipped his commitment from Tennessee to Oregon. He’s a 4 star OT at 6’4”, 315.
The Ducks have jumped up in the ranking of team recruiting. Did they outbid the Vols for this player or just do a better job at recruiting?

He is yet another Poly lineman staying out West. Mario has done a great job with the Mauigoa brothers, SJ and Frankie Tinilau from the Poly community. Hope we can keep that going.

I will continue to watch Branch's play this season. So far, they have wasted his talent. I was already saying he needs to transfer out of USC this season. He would look nice in Orange and Green.

Others have said he’s a package deal with Underwood so it makes sense that he follows him to Michigan

A lot of people on this site have their heads in the sand with regards to five star quarterbacks and top receiving talent. Smith went to taint and they got air and sayin. Will Howard to of course. We landed Judd and Emory before him. Sorry guys but that’s not getting people excited. Even lagway at ufag has people excited and they’re at 5 wins. I know it’s business and those kids are costly but at some point it’s an investment in the whole team

by that logic you're suggesting Luke Nickel isn't a draw this cycle, and the WR class last cycle with Judd belies your point as well. I think sometimes this argument is a little oversold. Kids either believe in the trajectory of the program sitting at 10-1 or they don't.

I'm quite certain Mario will ensure we have the best signal-caller available going into each season.

Auburn had the best wr class last season after missing a bowl game with no proof of offensive creativity and with no QB that's now leading most likely to another missed bowl. Georgia has one of the best wr classes in the country with little wr success and the worst QB development seen this season. Miami has shown development at wr and QB with the #1 offense and no generational pass catcher so if that's not enough what the **** does this school have to still prove and why? Not knocking you this is about the recruits

We were 7-6 last season and 5-7 the season before; 2025 recruits have seen much more bad Miami than good. We'll continue to raise the floor significantly with this HS class and hopefully get some surprises down the stretch; key is getting the"right guys"in the class.

Our recent success favors the portal more than HS recruiting right now, but our needle is definitely pointed up. Sounds like there will be talented dudes in the portal who'll see our success as an opportunity to elevate themselves. 🤷‍♂️

Should be an exciting off-season headed into the Spring with Adidas contract ending and significant upgrades to football/residential facilities.
