Our secondary scares the **** out of me. Teams are going to be able to pass on us all day long unless Howard and Bush can come in and be all-conference type players from day 1 (which I don't see happening).
There's no way our secondary will be worse than last year. I'm watching the USF game and Mike Williams goes down. No big deal, right? Wrong. It's a big deal because Lee Chambers was out for that game so he had no backup at corner. So what do we do? We move JoJo Nicolas to corner opposite Brandon McGee. So now we have McGee and Nicolas at corner with nobody playing nickel. I guess coach D didn't feel comfortable putting Finne in or something.
So now USF is running 3 or 4 wide sets and we still have our base personnel in because we have no ******* cornerbacks other than scrub as McGee and a safety playing corner, Nicolas. At least we'll have plenty of athletic bodies to throw in there this season. Maybe we won't have to run cover-2 90% of the time this season either.
