Deon Bush gets it!

I feel bad for him, Denzel and EJ. If our defense wasn't so bad, these kids would be getting national attention right now for their play (Denzel for being great, even though the injury has rendered him sometimes invisible, Bush and EJ for being highly promising freshmen).


This defense is going to be pretty good next year with these guys. If Porter can stay healthy (lol I know, and how much eligibility does he have left?) and McCord and other freshman DL come along, we will kill ****. Anybody else notice how good our defense looked as a whole when we had Porter and McCord in there? Like a different team.

Denzel hasn't been all that good yet, I realize he's been hurt and playing out of position. The national attention will come, but guys like EJ have had plenty of busted plays this year and have contributed to the issues on defense.

The key thing is they continue to develop and the recognition will follow.
 
I think Jamal Carter has the potential to be the best of the bunch in the future at S, BUT he's a kid I think that needs time. I don't expect to see him much his first year.

Rayshawn looked good back there last night. I see a bright future for him here. I wouldn't be surprised if he and Bush are our starting FS and SS for the next two years. jmo

The difference is the SEC has officials that know football. One day I think ole Al is gonna snap on one of these crappy, clueless, geriatric ACC refs. Should be good T.V.!

All you people are sleeping on Artie Burns, dude is very fast, has size, loves to mix it up and has ball skills. He looks way better in high school then Bush looked last year.....

I thought Artie Burns was a cb? ****, I really haven't been following recruiting close this year.


Howard looked a lot better than Bush in high school too, and we see how that is working out. Not that Howard sucks and won't come along as a player, but Bush looks like the 5 star guy out there, while Howard looks like a 4 star that needed a redshirt year to develop.

True, but Howard doesn't have the physical skills that Bush and Burns have and I believe that's been why the transition has been tuff...the kid is 5'10 180 and doesn't have real speed

I don't know enough about him, but I will say right now, he and Carter will be the studs after Bush/Jenkins. If not, all I can say is wow. Our future looks very bright on D.

He looked talented not necessarily good. Overran a couple of plays, took one really bad angle on an outside run but made up for it with a flash of speed in pursuit. However, considering our upperclassmen safeties have looked worse and not shown any talent either, I would much prefer Rayshawn out there.

Love the way Deon and EJ play downhill and attack the opponent and lay the wood. It will be fun watching these guys and this defense grow over the next couple years. Lots of young pups on this defense.

No offense but there ain't NOBODY sleeping on Artie Burns, no matter where he ends up. Him and Carter both are going to be animals.
