Denzel Perryman vs Florida

He might be a little shorter, but Denzel's game really reminds me of Lance Briggs with the Bears. Urlacher got most of the attention but Briggs was and continues to be a tackling machine.

He is one of the best tacklers we have ever had, if he hits you, you are going down.

D line keeping the lbers clean.

It was a thing of beauty, they set the table and DP cleaned up the way a LB should.

Enough can't be said about the Dline eating up blockers and keeping the OL from getting their hands on Miami's LBs. Not only were they occupying blockers, they were getting penetration as well.

And wow for Perryman. He makes the diagnosis of the play and gets to the ball carrier so fast. As mentioned above, he also does a great job of blowing up blockers. Coverage drops looked much better as well. Not enough superlatives to say about his performance.

If other teams fans make look a like threads this better be the pic they use for DP

I remember Barrow trying to convince Shannon to take him as a recruit, and Shannon thought he was too small.

I thought Golden and crew were the ones that had the concerns with Perryman?

No it was Shannon that didnt want him, but Barrow loved him. I believe Denzel was committed to Arizona until Golden offered him and he flipped to Miami.

Im not sure if he was a take for shannon or not. But I know Golden and Donofrio were skeptical at first. They wanted bigger guys and they took him because of Barrow, Im positive they are happy they did

Not even true.. Perryman was a cane from day 1 he was playing the recruiting game all along. He was coming here if Shannon or Golden was coach same as Chickillo. Everyone in SFL knew he was a cane. He wore UM gear to school all the time... He had a Miami offer during his soph year after he made all dade as a freshman at Gables..

The great DTs we always had were the reason we could play smaller fast LBs. Those DTs ate center and guards while collapsing into the backfield. You did not send a guard or center after a LB if Jerome Brown was grinning through his face mask.

What impressed me the most was the endurance of our D. After the O went 3 and out the first two drives of the 2nd half, I thought D would crack. Instead swamp scum got less and less with each carry. Of D really wore them down, not the other way. That is not easy with that lopsided time of possession. Whole lot of helmets on Driskell the whole game. Much pain being delivered. We had real pressure on QB all game. I am very happy.

mccord at 2:15 and 8:40..just shows what kind of pass rush he can bring. he didn't quite get there in time, but driskel was definitely feeling his presence.

back to topic, denzel is a beast.

As others have stated, that was Paul.
