Denzel Perryman as a MLB

Well, you say Perryman can go sideline to sideline, and that is exactly the thing the MLB will do. When they run away from him when he was at OLB, it makes it so he'd only get a tackle if it was at least 5 yards up field because he had so much ground to cover. At MLB he will be able to play downhill to both sides of him, which will put him in better position to make every play before they get a first down.
As for 2 years ago when he was at MLB, maybe he didn't trust his reads as much as he does now. He certainly wasn't as strong, so he will be better at shedding blocks. Plus he is our best overall linebacker, so he will do well. I just hope he is able to make more tackles at the line/behind the line of scrimmage because last year too many were around 5 yards...

He's ready for a Dan Morgan like senior year. Going to really help if Hertelou and Wyche are the real deal.

It's hard to look good at mlb in any defense when you have your dline getting blocked into you.

Can't really argue with that, hopefully Wyche and the other dl can let out lb make plays behind the line of scrimmage.

He's gonna struggle if he has to deal with untouched Guards all day long.

Which is the case with basically every MLB at every level of football. I am not saying you don't understand this, or are saying any different, I'm simply saying that yes, if he has to deal with unblocked Guards all year he'll struggle.

That isn't a knock on DP though...that's just football.

That's just the reality of Miami's defense for the last 3 years.

I truly hope he has that kind of season. Kid has a **** ton of talent and could work his way into the early 2nd lat first round with a season like that.

Owens should get some burn too... but next year don't be surprised if you see Kirby back in the middle... I like Owens in the middle better tho... but we all know AG likes his seniors to lead...

I truly hope Young takes over in the middle in 2015. Kid is already 240lbs as a true freshman and has been heree since spring. Get him some reps this season and hope he can take the reigns in 2015.

DP played 2 years a OLB and was monster; one year at MLB and not much. I wonder if the move is more about staff's failure to have any good MLBs or DP's ability to play MLB.

I just don't think he was mentally or physically ready for the middle 3 yrs ago. His body has matured and so has his mind. I think moving him to the middle, having him call out the plays, and getting some more athletes on the field will be great.

4:34 mark is all you need to know...

3rd and short in we're in a f**king dime defense against a running qb and dp f**ks up... lol

I guess you missed Fla State being in a nickel formation on 1st n goal and 2 n goal on that tape. obvious we ran a stunt to contain the QB from running outside. DP was looking back and slipped when trying to recover. it wasnt a designed play he just took off.

you guys are right, it's not dp's fault that we were in a prevent defense on 3rd and short.
