Dennis Signal - Luke Nickel Commits

I get it. The mopes are moping and none of us our real football evaluators and you want to have some faith. But four out of the top 10 quarterbacks in this class are already committed. Clearly recruiting evaluators have enough tape and knowledge of guys to start ranking them and schools are coming after the top guys, who we have not landed.

Choosing to trust this program and its evaluations and really anything they do at the moment given the 2024 recruiting class, allowing Ruiz to loudmouth for a year and how last year went on the field is just moronic.

If he's not elite, what 25 QBs have more impressive highlights? And you betting black and shutting the door on a sophomore because he is maxed out already, he's a hack? Clarity is useful in scenarios like this

If you're going to get a kid a year in advance, I like it being a QB. I haven't checked out a thing about him, but he's at least got some hype, so congrats to the young man.

I know we're all caught up in this class, but don't let that distract from this kids moment. What an exciting day for him!

Hoping the flip is scort
Rudolph does not move the needle at all
To go from Simmons/stewart/lightfoot to Rudolph is a huge drop off

Not a huge drop-off...

Yes Stewart is probably the top defensive player in this class…But there's a gap between him and Simmons imo, and Rudolph is very good

Where are we getting this Lightfoot flipping stuff at?

Lightfoot and Rudolph would be a top 5 and top 15 DE in this class imo.

Impressed by his film. Athletic, has a knack for feeling the pocket, and throwing on the run.

Shame on the mopes for star whoring. Happy he's on board. Seems like the type of kid that would throw for 3k yards/run for 300 and Wake/NCstate/puke and we'd look back and mope police would blowoff about he was interested and we didn't offer.

The ratings for the year ahead are always off like this. He’s rated pretty highly and will probably be a low to mid 90s composite guy imo he looks pretty good. I’d think being a Georgia kid he’s going to have legit SEC offers. Very happy to have a 1A type QB in the boat early for once this decade.

Seems to throw from different angles.
The film looks great but I question the quality of the competition.
Milton plays some of the best schools in the state. This is not a concern in Georgia.
I know people want a2024 commit, and so do I, but I’m not dumb enough to be upset about this young man committing to UM. He is legit. Enjoy this for what it is.

FYI, Milton is ranked #6 preseason in the state.

Exactly. I would be lying to say I don't badly want a major 2024 commit to pop but this is a very good get and qb's can be tough to pull later in cycles.

About half the top 25 QB recruits are already committed. That's the game now. This kid looks sharp, seems athletic for a QB, plays competitive Georgia football, and has some great tools to build on as a legit, blue-chip QB prospect.

Seems some people are emotionally letting their disappointment over c/o 2024 impact their response here.

From Canesport;

“I feel like after seeing all of the places and being able to get out there, and now I’ve seen Miami, that’s the place I want to be at,” Nickel said. “Right now is the best time for me to just go ahead and start building that class as well, get to know the guys around me and help build the class and try to win championships.”

“I plan on locking in with Miami,” Nickel said. “I just feel like Miami is the best thing for me, and it checks all of my boxes. It’s just one of my schools where I don’t feel like I need to look at any other things. I’ve got everything I need right here at Miami, and I’m a big believer in just committing to my team and the guys around me."

Yeah. Because banking on stars is just a horrible way to assess recruiting. National championship game shows that every year.

As it should.

The 2024 class sucks. And everybody made the exact same argument early on as they are now making.

“Watch the film”

“This isn’t indicative of a staff that can’t get traction, this is their guy.”

“He will end up being highly ranked later.”

There shouldn’t be any patience or trust as it relates to the ‘25 class, after the failure of the ‘24 class.
