I liked Dennis he had a lot of pressure on him after Jimmy and still usually delivered. Perhaps if he didn't start hitting the bottle at 6 am during the film sessions may have won a few more? Coaches list:

Not putting Rick on the list way too early. Remember when The U supposedly offered Wanny millions to leave The Fins? Man that would have been something. Something awful!

In the sprint to winning programs, Howard had to start fifteen yards behind the starting line.

JJ got to start ten yards PAST the starting line.

Erickson likewise got to start ten yards past the starting line.

Butch started at the starting line, but had to run ten yards, stop, run five yards backwards, and THEN run his race.


Howard and Butch weren't handed top programs.

Howard started from scratch, and Butch had a reset with 31 scholarship losses.

Jimmy in essence overturned the roster as well. Look Butch is right there but a gameday coach? Not sure he sure could recruit and bring in the right people.

In recruiting Butch was the best with Howard a close second. Game day coach and motivator Jimmy Johnson hands down.

Butch should actually be #1 on the list. Actually he should be #1 on the list all time best coaches ever, ahead of even Saban and Rockne.

Because his 0 NCs and one season of 10 or more wins are just so awesome.

Dennis' one back is still my favorite offense, period. Deadly and could work with RBs of very different sizes and strengths. Still wonder what a healthy McGuire could have done in that offense.
