I think either DJ or Harris redshirts, but not both. DJ sure looks ready though!
Tough one. Harris looks ready as well. Kid has grown up something fierce in a year and a half.

At DE and OLB we have a ton of talent, it would really be amazing if this guy didn't red-shirt.
Agreed, though if anyone can do it, it's probably this kid. It's really tough to judge how his weight will come along but I've got a feeling we are going to see him on the field this year making plays. He's a freak.
To echo JHall's sentiments earlier, it is amazing how much better Chick looked when he was playing opposite NFL talent. His game is pushing people back on the edge and then slipping the block for the sack when the pocket collapses. Not everyone needs to be a speed rusher. Chick can be strong at the point of attack and let these young horses shoot around the outside.
If D Jackson is as talented as some think he is, a redshirt is irrelevant. Better to get him in the game early to understand the the pace if he will be gone after 4 anyway.

dont get me wrong I want chick to succeed and I know he was dealt with injuries, growing spurts and double teams for 3 years...but when we played less talent he was still lacking getting to the QB...I heard this year he is a BEAR...the practices I went to he was not active so I have not witnessed the new chick...my point like others said is we now have just as good as guys as chick ready to play.... and hopefully no dbl teams now with a grown *** man opposite him...
Not redshirting this kid would waste a year of him being here. I dont even think he could make the 2 deep by the start of the season. We have some serious competition at those DE/OLB spots. Why waste a year of him doing nothing and have the same feeling we are going to have about Jermaine Grace, Jamal Carter, and Antonio Crawford. (Like their freshmen year was wasted and in turn they were not here long enough. **** AC is a **** junior already! Smh.)
Very impressive. I'm very excited to see what D-Jax does during his time here.
With that said, by far the most impressive thing about the link is that Miami Beach has a 7'1 Freshman center that averaged 18.8 ppg, 16.7 rpg and 6.7 bpg... WOW

Heard this kid was openly ***. Anyone else hear this rumor?

I truly believe the days of seeing the bulk of a recruiting class redshirt are over. If a kid is a stud then he will be gone by his 3rd year regardless if he is a true JR or a redstart FR. Now with that being said I would love to see more guys get shirts who are not physically or mentally ready, but to be honest this team has lacked real talent for so long that every kid with a pulse has been needed on defense.
The 2012 roster had 2 returning scholarship CB's Brandon McGee & Thomas Finnie, there was no way AC was going to shirt with that kind of depth. This team has had paper thin depth at every position on defense from the time AL took over. This will mark the first season that a 4 star player (other than QB) will get a chance to redshirt. This team is finally turning the corner in terms of depth and the fact that we can debate on redshirting a 4 star player is proof that things are getting better.

who gives a ****?
I certainly dont. I think it's great. Going to be a huge story in a few years if it's true.
He is not redshirting and will play immediately. he has already bulked up as well as chad thomas. they both come in and i believe play that AQM and Mccord role from last year as rush ends. thats a deadly combo when you add in Darrion Owens and Trent Harris. 2016 is our National Championship year.
