Let him shirt and put on solid weight and learn. In 2015 AQM, McCord, Thomas, Harris and DJ give us the best edge rush in the country. That ain't rose colored glasses either.

That is definitely rose colored glasses. AQM and tyriq have what, 10-12 sacks combined in their careers? The rest have never played a down. I like the potential there too, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

At DE and OLB we have a ton of talent, it would really be amazing if this guy didn't red-shirt.

He is not redshirting and will play immediately. he has already bulked up as well as chad thomas. they both come in and i believe play that AQM and Mccord role from last year as rush ends. thats a deadly combo when you add in Darrion Owens and Trent Harris. 2016 is our National Championship year.

I hope we redshirt him, Kid is a freak but has only played a year of football. Let him bulk up and teach him how to play and then let him loose as a redshirt freshman.

Agreed, though if anyone can do it, it's probably this kid. It's really tough to judge how his weight will come along but I've got a feeling we are going to see him on the field this year making plays. He's a freak.

We need bull rushers....he is one..
I hate to be the downer...but unless Chick is healthy and tearing it up he will get passed over in the depth chart...talent is now here folks

There's just no way Golden will sit Chick, not after he has played every snap for 2 years. It sure would be nice to get him some help though. People constantly ***** about how he was "explosive" as a freshman but put on too much weight, I would counter that he played limited snaps as a frosh. Da **** you expect from a kid who literally never misses a play? One who has had to put on a ton of weight here to withstand the beating he has endured having absolutely NOONE out there to help him out. He's a mature senior and will have help this year, I expect him to finish strong.

We need a true freshman to make an impact like duke and coley have on the defensive side.

Not redshirting this kid would waste a year of him being here. I dont even think he could make the 2 deep by the start of the season. We have some serious competition at those DE/OLB spots. Why waste a year of him doing nothing and have the same feeling we are going to have about Jermaine Grace, Jamal Carter, and Antonio Crawford. (Like their freshmen year was wasted and in turn they were not here long enough. **** AC is a **** junior already! Smh.)

No way would I want them taking snaps away from AQM and Mccord on passing downs. Both of those guys should be in on every passing 3rd down no matter what. Redshirt DJ so they don't waste a year.

Therein lies the question. If he isn't capable, well then of course you shirt him. It's nice we finally have that option. Some, myself included, think he is capable of helping right away.

definitely a red-shirt candidate. Wish we would red-shirt more kids. Guys like Jermaine Grace give us nothing as true freshman but can be real impact players by the time they are upper-classmen but we end up only getting a year or so of quality play out of them.

Call it whatever u want. I see a more athletic Dwayne Hoilett. If anything similar to DH progress - he won't see the field for a few years.

I think either DJ or Harris redshirts, but not both. DJ sure looks ready though!
