correct and hats off to him for those but our need is DT, the biggest weakness must be addressed heavy or the other players lose value with the gaping hole

where there is smoke there is fire, this guy does nothing buy miss at the DT position. he can't recruit and we don't have a pass rush 2 years into his tenure after he took over for a guy that had a pass rush. there should be a long list of names at the DT position that is getting thinner and thinner

It has been discussed ad nauseum that recruiting is done on a regional basis, and that positional coaches do not recruit their given position group exclusively.

Getting him would have been quite a big deal. The op is wrong, he didn´t just "commit" to USC. He´s a transfer, so he will enroll and they won´t have to worry about him flipping later on. Unlike us and any kids who "commit" to us between now and Feb. The fact that him being in school and definitively in our plans for 2014 (as a seasoned vet, no less) was what would have made him so much more valuable than any juco "commit".
