Seems like all of the negativity is geared at G5 Guidry and their names aren't getting enough attention. We have regression across the board at every group and not one returner looks better this year than they did last year. How is their so much confusion and miscommunication with 4 of the 5 defensive coaches returning from last years team?

DL - Where is our pass rush? We looked dominant in our non conference schedule but have been silenced against average ACC teams with plenty G5 transfers starting for them. Baron was being talked about as a 1st round pick and now all we see from him is getting pinched inside letting us get gashed for another huge run. Bain was an Freshman All-American and have barely heard his name. Yes Barrow has been really good for us but the talk of "the best DL in the country" was being thrown around early on and we are getting punked by ACC mediocrity. Big Joe is our weakest recruiter and his coaching work is far from impressive. Jason Taylor has been an elite recruiter but coaching wise isn't living up to the gold jacket he owns.

LB - We've heard plenty of Derek Nicholson being labeled as a rising star. Based on what? Kiko Mauigoa went from an All-ACC player and draft pick to the guy Offensive Coordinators are targeting in their game planning with his draft stock plummeting. He was in the backfield all last season and when was the last time we saw him there? Bissainte has flashed here and there but by no means is the All-ACC player in Year 3 he could be. Aguirre could be good, has been behind Mauigoa (hopefully healthy again soon) but also has been out of position a ton but believe his ceiling is really high. Alderman seems like a nice addition and Washington is slowly getting reps which is encouraging. The constant falling for motion, misdirection and eye candy is exhausting and is not getting better.

DB - Other than Frederique all need Jesus. We knew this was the weak link but it's also the group with two coaches which makes it worse. Chevis Jackson has recruited exceptionally well (hopefully not done) but Porter Jr, Richard and Hill have not look good at all. Safety is G5 Guidry's specialty and is the biggest trainwreck we have. We have 5th year Seniors grading in the 30's in PFF and Jaden Harris is taking angles that we became accustomed to during the Golden, Richt and Diaz eras. As bad as this group has been a lot of it has to do with our front 7 giving them zero help and exposing their flaws just that much more.

TLDR but I did read the title. I agree completely. The performance of every position group and the defense as a whole leads one to question the position coaches and coordinator. The chopping block is for everybody. Hope the good ones get retained.

For dline I just don’t think the guys are that good
Bain doesn’t look the same as last year
Hopefully Scott is the goods
And either Pickett or light foot becomes a 10 plus sack guy next year

Kikos weakness is coverage
And opposing coaches are simply out scheming Guidry, it’s very concerning he hasn’t figured out a counter yet

Same
With db
Combo of simply bad players
And gettting out coached
Players constantly looking confused is unacceptable as well

Well know a lot about Mario
Basd on changes he’ll make this year
I think for us to take the next step Mario needs to upgrade some of the coaches

**** yeah, let’s fire them. Lol
Absolutely should be considered. Never seen a Miami defense regress so much over the course of the season. This is indicative of poor coaching. We lack football coaching acumen across the board. They try to compensate with big personalities, charisma, and recruiting prowess but their deficiencies are exposed when going against smart X’s and O’s guys.

Yeah, special teams not so special, either. Fire.
Tight ends under utilized & too few big plays. Fire.
QB freelancing too much & puts ball at risk. Fire OC.
Miami won 9, but lost 1. Fire HC.
Not enough fannies in the stands. Fire AD.
Fire everyone.

Not everyone….just the DC if he doesn’t pull his head out of his ***. Hyperbole won’t distract anyone from an obvious glaring issue

You typed all of that to avoid the HC?.

Defense sucks because DC has gotten too cute

lost talent on his side especially in the back end secondary and decided whether by bad evals and lack of urgency in recruiting to not fill the holes in the portal when there was available players to do so the whole portal term since december of last year.

Its coaching an lack of development.

Wanna know its coaching...the pinching , slanting of the end was the reason for the long run pop against UF IN THE FIRST GAME.....its still an issue to this day because there is no edge being set and expecting i guess the cb to be the force player its stupidity

Also the ACC has good offensive minds and coaches but folks dont like to say it too much cause you know...SEC Sec Sec

This is dumb. 9-1 could easily be 7-3 or 6-4 and the conversation would be very different. The defense has been awful and looks confused and unprepared week after week. It’s ok to be happy about 9-1 while also having discussions about the defense and where the staff and roster should be upgraded. We have a National Championship level offense and unfortunately we’re going to fall short of that level this season because the defense is that bad

If we make it to ACCG Cam will needs 450 yards and 5-6 TD passes 50-60 points plus to win .
The word obviously is out there that’s you can run and pass on us at will .

Every game Cam will need Heisman moments galore to win .

And of course X to have 150 plus yards per game.

We do this WE GOOD 🙌

This (in bold)^^^

Was watching one of those morning sport talk shows and Dan Orlovsky was talking about Miami's defense. He made some good points - his bottom line was the playcalling is "too cute". He's been a big fan of Miami this season but he was pretty critical of the playcalling/coaching for Ga Tech...

BS, you are what your record is. Just about every team in the country could have a different record based on a play here or there, including UGA, Oregon, OSU. Everyone should be ****ed about our defense, but unfortunately at this point in the season it is what it is. Can’t flip out & suggest firing everyone. You play the season out & hope D stabilizes. May be hard for negative Nellie’s to grasp, but we’re actually relevant & playing for something.

And G5 isn’t gonna change anything. He will still call those dumb d line stunts and we will still be outflanked by the motion man. I can’t wait for Mario to fire him
