James Pierre picked off Jake Allen.

He's one of the more underrated players in the class.

Supposedly, near 200yds in penalties for STA. Deerfield has beaten STA before and they have a decent chance of beating Flanagan in third round. Hope we can sign Jeron Jeudy.

I think AHP has a legit shot to become the top team in Broward for a bit. Mike Rumph said his goal was to win the national championship, and would probably have done it if one of those TDs weren't called back in their game against Dematha. They're also a young team. Their program is invested in becoming a national power. Compared to STA, they have: better S&C, coaching, and the facilities are about the same. AHP also holds the yearly SPARQ combine on their campus, which is a free tour for kids who think about transferring. Their quality of recruit is about the same, with AHP having potentially 3 5-star players. They have so much depth that one of their players had to go start at their Delray campus (always a good team), because he was going to be a back up.

At the SFE youth team tryout, most of the kids were wearing AHP gear. Also, Surtain is still a coach for them and STA doesn't have 1 coach on any of the premier 7v7 teams.

Hopefully, our new coach will recruiting AHP as much as any other program in SFL (unlike our current staff).

ahp doesnt have the talent in the trenches as a sta. STA has been procucing 2-3 div 1 ol a year sincei was in high school....(2000-2003). They dont have much depth their either. They had to scramble around and get transfers this year for their ol. This years team does look good, and they are really young...they should be good for awhile.. But cant compete with sta....dont get ahead of your self....STA doesnt need coacheds on that 7 on 7 crap...Their name sells itself.

Im saying this with my younger cousin starting for ahp. They should win states if they stay on course.....

Run back the film....I throughout Deerfield as the team in s.fla from in june. STA just has too many weapons and at times that can be a good thing and a bad thing...on offense they have 3 div 1 rbs...4 div1 wrs and their trying to make every one happy. But 3 pts??/

Yeah, Deerfield has a bunch of prospects, including some quality transfers. They're a good team, but still lost to Coconut Creek and Bolles. That same Bolles team just got beat down 49-20 by Columbia lol. They have a history with beating STA and they were 1-yard away from beating the 2007 MNW team in the semi-final. They have a legit shot at 8A, though. The 8A champ is coming from the south and it's going to be between: Columbus, Flanagan, or Deerfield.

Depth at OL and DL has been the difference for AHP and STA, but they have had and do have talent at those positions. STAs name has been selling itself, but when you break down what their programs currently offer, there's no difference. AHP has a pro S&C coach and their facility has NFL and college kids training their over the summer. They play OOS teams and are now going to have 1 game per year on ESPN. What does Roger Harriot offer as far as development compared to Rumph, Surtain, Gadsden and the rest of AHPs staff? That Uschool staff was nothing special. Their most loaded team lost three games and never beat a quality opponent. Their biggest wins were against a Homestead team that didn't make the playoffs and a below avg Cypress Bay team. This isn't the same AHP from a few years back. They now have more credibility after winning multiple state titles and beating IMG.

These two programs are going to best in Broward for a while. They have plenty of resources and they care about winning. They should play each other, every year.

Hope jake allen stays with florida he is terrible one of the most overated qb prospects i have seen in a while

Agreed. So overrated to begin with and then gets the recruiting bounce once he committed to the Gaytor...

I'm excited to see what South Dade can do. They're the most underrated program down here, IMO.

Columbus is probably the favorite, but South Dade has the talent and coaching to get hot like they did in 2013.

STA made the game tying FG with under a minute left. Deerfield was called for offsides during the kick. So STA has to replay 4th down. They missed the 2nd kick. I guess you can't decline offsides in HS?

Hats off the Deerfield but what a turrible way to end that game.

South Dade is really good & Coral Gables is a good team as well. Any team can come out of dade in 8A Columbus, South Dade & Gables

What happened was, STA took the 5 yards and automatic first down. Gave them first and goal but they couldn't punch it in.

I was there too. On Deerfield beach sideline where I played all 4 years. Derrick Crudup (Um) & Brent Schaeffer (UT/Ole Miss) were my Qbs.

The play you're talking about happened that same drive yes but not on the game ending fg attempt. It was plays early. That final play the Bucks called a Timeout to ice the kicker. The penalty was 4 plays prior.

#14 from Deerfield was called offsides. Sta took the 5 yard penalty instead of the made fg which gave them the ball 1st and goal w just over a minute and some change left. The play was actually called dead before the kick was even off but they still have STA the option.
