Dee Jay Dallas to start out at WR

I think his eventual position is DB - especially if he wants to go pro, but the coaches know best.

If you were around at the time, DJ Williams played his first year in the offensive backfield and Eric Winston started as a tight end. and Sam Shields started as a receiver. Of course, there were side stories to some of those cases.

This scenario is kinda exactly what I DONT want to see happen to DJ. I've seen too many careers wasted for lack of a dedicated position.

If you have 2 positions, you have no position.

If Macintosh and Norton have good years and go pro, this CB and DT class have ****ed our 2018 defense. Jesus Christ what a ****ty first class bump year.

Yep. We could lose our entire 3 deep at DT next year. Wanted one more DT this cycle. We'll need to land 2-3 top flights kids next year plus a juco. Can't afford misses. It's a position we have sucked at historically.

Same deal at CB. We'll have bandy, dean, young, JJ for 2 more years. Can't afford misses next year at CB.

Really? Look at the Hall of Fame DTs we've had over the years. Sapp, Maryland, Wilfolk, Cortez Kennedy, Jerome Brown. While we haven't recruited great there in recent years (wish I could forget the last decade), there aren't many schools with our historical pedigree at DT.

Not that I don't think he will excel on offense, though.

I can kind of understand your point on the DT class but your comment on the CB class makes no sense. In 2018, Dean will be a senior, Young a junior, Bandy a sophomore, Carter a sophomore and Jaquan a senior. How exactly is this a bad thing?

Need at least 2 big time DTs in the 2018 recruiting cycle no doubt.

Jaquan and carter are safeties. Want to take another shot at the CB depth chart?

Our CB depth chart is fine. lol.
2017:
Young
Bandy
Dean
Redwine
DJ

2018:
Young
Bandy
Dean
Redwine
DJ
Blades
Ivey
Jobe or someone else
5 CBs, so zero room for injury. And one of your cornerbacks (per this thread) is going to be a WR. 2 with div 1 college experience.

And while it is unlikely, we could see Dean one and done. If he gets decent tape this year he is going to have people telling him with his length and speed that he should be getting paid.

That is going to be masked this year by what I expect to be among the best front 7 lineups in the entire country, but that may look totally different the year after that. And if we should have learned anything this cycle, it is to not count any future CB eggs before they have hatched.

This guy played receiver at the Paradise camp, where Mark Rick called him a future first rounder. Dugans introduce him as an early enrollee & people actually thought he was going to play corner? LOL.OK.

Do you have clips of him at WR at Paradise Camp. I'm honestly asking because I've only seen clips of him at CB at Paradise camp. And he looked awesome there

Exactly.

If Dean and Bandy prove themselves i guess we wont need DJ at CB. But it sure is puzzling to put him at WR with AR, Mullins, Cager, Berrios, Thomas, Harley and Njoku there.

That offense is in chips stacked mode (Besides RB & TE). That's for 2018.

Lmao at thinking five CBs for '17 is fine for depth. You don't know **** about football.

Maybe they move mullin to cb ?

Wondering same thing. Not sure if Mullins got a redshirt. If he did not i find it hard to believe he was not good enough to see the field at all. Might me an indication he is not cut out to play receiver. It will all play out in the spring though.
