Decarlo Hamilton-- American Heritage DT

This is like the DT prospect that Randy offered based on 6 plays from YouTube---can't remember his name, but someone on here will---and we all talked ourselves into the "hidden gem" thing.

There are plenty of hidden gems in South Florida, but usually they aren't a massive defensive tackle in a bad year for defensive tackles, playing on a superstar team that is constantly putting kids on SEC rosters. If the kid had this size and was even halfway decent, Kentucky or FIU would have offered.

Can never find gems on an already loaded roster?

I mean Lavonte David didn't turn out to be the best MNW Bull or anything

Kid obviously hasn't played football long it appears. Plays too high, but not too slow. Doesn't quit, pursues well and eats up blockers. I think the potential there with improved technique, agility, get off and with college training. I say take a chance, if Kool says he can turn him into a stud.

When your staring at a class of 0 DT's and plenty of spots to play with, you go t the next best guy and give him an offer. There has to be some semblance of balance in your recruiting or you eventually wind up with Monroe playing WR.

I would like to hear Rumphs assessment on this kid seeing he was his coach. I would that would carry some weight.

Dude has an opening shirt on. So he's been somewhat exposed to recruiting. Like others have said, if there was anything there he would have offers. There's a MASSIVE kid up here in VT. Kid was at a prep school in New Hampshire. Rumor has it he might end up at BC. Cheickna Doucoure I believe is his name. He's like 6'6 350. His dad is 6'9 and his mom like 6'2. From Africa. Kinda soft, but MASSIVE..lol take a flier on him.

Plan Z recruit if his only offer is Liberty.

LMAO at people trying to justify that. Good luck to the guy, but AH has players who all the programs know and have watched actual game footage of. He didn't stand out enough in game film to garner an offer. Since all the rest is good, his size and such, that should tell you all you need to know.

For real. People would be calling him a Golden special if the old staff had interest in him. No thanks.

We've been doing that for the last 5 years and not one of them has worked out. Briscoe, Ivey, Moore, Wyche. There's no reason to pickup a DT that couldn't contribute for 2-3 years when we can wait one year and pick up a future starter. We're not that desperate at DT this year.

Everything that happened the last 5 years is irrelevant. I'm not even saying take this kid, I just want someone's take that has a reason he's not got any bigger offers. He has all the tools, you can see in the highlights. Maybe he doesn't apply them every play and the only ones he does are on the HL. Idk that's why I'm asking. Someone that actually has any legitimate information.

We NEED a DT in this class or we are going to be playing freshman in a few years. Don't care how highly touted they are, freshman are rarely successful in the trenches in major D1 football

im not trying to justify this kid as a take (havent watched the tape) but we now have one of the best D-Line coaches in the nation who has made a living off of turning low rated recruits into All-Americans . So im a little more lenient with this staff taking this guy as opposed to the last one, who made a living off of turning highly rated recruits into JAGS

Almost thought you were talking about the ghost of Julio Derosier but that was a Golden kid

I hear ya, coach Kool get's some leeway.

Bahamian kid...pretty big but agile at his size. Think he committed to Liberty though....

Ya I googled him and saw an article where he committed there. Easy flip if they see any potential imo.

So he's from the Bahamas..any idea how long he's been at Heritage and how many years he's played football? I was thinking maybe he only played 1 or 2 years in high school and that is why he's under rated. He honestly looks better than Ryan Fines coming out of HS.
My Grandmother rates 2*stars above Fines..

(2016) American Heritage 6-4/315 NT/DT worth following

Decarlo Hamilton------Has gotten into better shape this year and lost some weight.... looks like a space eater with some mobility at 6-4/315. Last year's game films did not impress me as much. Worth seeing the rest of this year's game film and any camps/combines he attends

American Heritage is 9-1 this year and only loss was to DeMatha High School {10-1) 23-22 and DeMatha which easily defeated Central High 38-14.
Also include defeats of IMG Academy and Stephenson High of Georgia (9-3)

3 GAME HIGHLIGHTS - Decarlo Hamilton highlights

Decarlo Hamilton, American Heritage, Defensive Tackle

Everything being said about not finding a gem at a major program makes sense. But I think we're all overlooking the X factor here, that we have his high school coach on staff. I don't care how many games other coaches have watched of this guy, if rumph says he's a take, and is basically risking his new career as a college coach by doing so, I'd say trust him.

Big and strong but looks very awkward and not athletic. Being coached by Rumph if he had some potential I would think he would be pushing Coach Kool to take a look.

I have been strong on {2017) George Ellis at AH since a freshman----at combine was 6-2.5 and 298 ran a shot shuttle in under 5.0, The lost 23-22 to DeMatha High School that went 12-0 and wee a top team in the US. He gave their OL which has 4 top rated division 1 recruits a fit. He is a U type player.

Florida has some decent looking DT prospects for 2017. I posted this back in the winter. I have sent them to staff a couple of times since then.
