Deandre Wilder Top 11 and Interview

best 100m time i could find for him was around 11.5

at this point, im doubting the kid has that elite speed we've been told. he's fast & talented, no doubt. just dont think he's some outlier at LB with his speed.

If the 11.5 is accurate, and he ran a 4.8 at the combine, then you're right. He's no burner. Doesn't have to be to be a great LB, but the times I've seen don't indicate he's a speed guy.

Some guys with slower times play much faster than guys with faster times though, and I find that especially true at LB and Safety. I've seen quite a few LBs and Safeties over the years who clock well but play slow.
 
I'm really curious as to why Alabama didn't make his top 11 since he stated that "what's the guy's name" was recruiting him hard.

Unless he's that good or injuries occur, he'd most likely be sitting and waiting his turn for a long time. It wouldn't surprise me one bit of he is looking at more favorable depth charts. I also wouldn't fault him one bit, he seems like he wants to get after it all the time.
 
As bad as I wanted Wilder and think he'll be elite, I don't think this staff is one for local guys playing games. This ain't no phucking game kids! We got options now and ain't got time for childish top whatever lists. Broke *** Folks gonna have to make that long ride/flight because you trying to emulate idiots.

You're talking as if you're in the know. I imagine the staff knows where they stand and that's all that matters. You do also realize that we've had recruits with lists, etc. All that matters to this staff is if they think someone can help them win games. The other stuff isn't even a blip on the radar to them.

Agreed! Wilder must be referring to our very own Fire Marshall Bill! They are both Carol City Cheifs so to me it would be too much of a coincidence. This makes Wilder an even bigger want now that we know he is pumping iron with Fire Marshall Bill at Strong Arm Athletics.
 
And it is him! I googled it and saw some pictures of him. I thought he was doing about 20 years? That sly dog slithered out of another jam.

BTW, the Channing Crowder version of Willie's UF visit is hilarious.

Watching the video....will this guy have the grades to qualify here? When asked "out of Florida or Florida State,which one would be the biggest threat to Miami" he answered"Notre Dame".....Maybe just nerves.

It is legit interest I read he's paying his own way to ND this summer, a lot of people don't understand that this was one of his first couple of times on camera and everyone gets nervous. It wasn't like Bruce Judson who's been on camera thousands of times and sounds like an absolute idiot.
